The present invention relates to a stabilizing composition useful for improving the stability of reagent for redox reaction, and a reagent composition for redox reaction having an improved stability. The reagent composition for redox reaction can be applied for a reagent for electrochemical biosensor.

Reagent composition for redox reaction

A composition of redox-reagent containing metal-containing complex and thionine or its derivative as electron transfer mediator for use in an electrochemical biosensor, and a biosensor containing the same are provided. With the increase in reaction rate between redox enzyme-thionine (or its derivative)-metal-containing complex in the composition of redox-reagent containing metal-containing complex and thionine or its derivative, glucose detection efficiency markedly increases, and the composition is hardly influenced from high humidity and interfering substances. Accordingly, the composition of redox-reagent is useful in fabricating an electrochemical biosensor for detecting glucose in blood.

Composition of redox-reagents for electrochemical biosensor and biosensor comprising the same

The present invention relates to an electrochemical biosensor with improved hematocrit measurement accuracy for measuring blood glucose. According to the present invention, an electrochemical biosensor including a first electrode part for correcting a measured hematocrit value and a second electrode part for measuring a glucose concentration is effective in improving accuracy of a measured hematocrit value and in more improving accuracy of a measured blood glucose concentration using the measured hematocrit values for correction, because an insulation cover is made thinner than a working electrode and an auxiliary electrode, so that areas of a first working electrode and a first auxiliary electrode of the first electrode part exposed to a blood sample become equal; a distance between the first working electrode and the second working electrode becomes constant; and electrode areas are maintained constantly by the insulation cover even when a positioning error occurs during printing.

Disclosed is an electrochemical biosensor having a sample introduction channel in which an insulator is employed to introduce a small amount of a sample uniformly and accurately and to adjust an area of a working electrode, thereby guaranteeing the accurate quantitative analysis of a sample. Provided with a sample collection barrier at a sample entrance, the biosensor allows a sample to be introduced at higher accuracy and to be analyzed with higher reproducibility and reliability.

Disclosed is an electrochemical biosensor measuring device which can be used together with an electrochemical biosensor. The biosensor measuring device comprises an electrical connection portion which is electrically connected with the electrodes of the biosensor upon the insertion of the biosensor there into, and a connector having a structure in which at least one light absorption or reflection path sequentially comprising a light emitter-production lot information identification portion-detector unit is provided to identify the production lot information recorded in the biosensor. The electrochemical biosensor measuring device can automatically identify the production lot information of the biosensor, encoded in the form of a hue or hole marks, upon the insertion of the electrochemical biosensor into the measuring device, thereby obviating the need to manually input the production lot information of the biosensor. Thus, inconvenience and the frequency of errors, which occur when a user personally inputs the production lot information, can be reduced, with the result that the measured values can be conveniently and accurately acquired.

Disclosed are an electrochemical biosensor which comprises a production lot information identification portion, on which information is recorded in a magnetization mark, and a measuring device which can automatically identify the production lot information of the biosensor with the insertion of the electrochemical biosensor into the measuring device. The electrochemical biosensor and the measuring device thereof can record production lot information in the form of magnetization marks on an electrochemical biosensor strip and read the information as digital signals through a magnetoresistance sensor device, which can be mounted on the surface of a circuit board using Surface Mounted Technology (SMT). Without the need for a high-priced filter or a complicated calculation system, the magnetic detector system has a simple construction and realizes economic efficiency in the construction of the measuring device. Also, the measuring device automatically identifies the production lot information recorded on the biosensor, so that inconvenience and the frequency of errors, which occur when a user personally inputs the production lot information, can be reduced, with the result that the measured values can be conveniently and accurately acquired.

Disclosed herein is an electrochemical biosensor measuring device which comprises at least two photodiodes for emitting light beams at regular time intervals in a sequential manner, with the insertion of an electrochemical biosensor thereto, and a detector for sensing the emitted light beams, thereby identifying the production lot information recorded on a production lot information identification portion on the electrochemical biosensor. Thus, the device enjoys economic advantages of not requiring a high-priced optical filter in detecting the light absorbed through or reflected from the production identification information recorded in biosensor and a complicated software algorithm to recover the production lot information. Also, the measuring device automatically identifies the production lot information recorded on the biosensor, so that the frequency of inconvenience and error that occur when a user personally inputs the production lot information of the biosensor can be reduced, with the result that the measured values can be conveniently and accurately acquired.

Disclosed herein is a dual blood glucose meter. The dual blood glucose meter includes a meter body, a measurement strip, a variety of electronic parts and upper and lower strip receiving ports. The meter body is provided with a liquid crystal display panel on the front thereof to display measured numerical values and various pieces of pictorial information. The measurement strip is brought into contact with blood at a blood collection spot so as to measure blood glucose of the blood. The electronic parts are used to measure the blood glucose of the blood. The upper and lower strip receiving ports are formed at upper and lower ends of the meter body to receive the measurement strip, and are each electrically connected to the electric parts.

Disclosed is a porous membrane built-in biosensor comprising (a) at least one substrate; (b) an electrode layer patterned on the substrate, consisting of an electrode system and a circuit connector; (c) an insulator, formed on parts of the electrode layer, for electrically separating the electrode system from a circuit connector; and (d) a porous membrane via the insulator on the electrode system, wherein, when a whole blood sample is introduced to the biosensor, the whole blood sample is separated into its components during the chromatographic motion through the porous membrane so that only blood plasma can be contacted with the electrode system. The galenic composition of this invention has been found to possess valuable pharmacological properties in the prevention of the aftereffects related to ingesting excessive amounts of ethanol. The inventive composition decreases blood alcohol concentration and reduces the increased content of neutral fat in the blood due to alcohol intake.
