The apparatus includes a CCD to photoelectrically transform an optical image which is imaged through a lens part, using a mosaic color filter array pattern, a buffer to store a color data output from the CCD by a pixel, in a predetermined unit, and an ADSE logic to color-interpolate a spatially missing color data by adaptively applying a luminance significance element value to a certain color interpolation method, the luminance significance element value indicating contribution of each color to an entire luminance with respect to each pixel color data stored in the buffer.

A 3-dimensional image is generated from an input 2-dimensional image based upon illuminative characteristics of the input image by filtering the 2-dimensional input image with filters of different orientations, outputting base shading images corresponding to the filters, extracting positive pixel values for each base shading image, calculating a difference between the pixel values of the input image and the extracted positive pixel values, calculating a median value of the calculated difference, selecting the filter to output a base shading image of smallest median, outputting a shading image by filtering the input image with the selected filter, combining the input image with the shading image and outputting the 3-dimensional image based upon the combined image. A previously selected filter for a preceding image can be considered when selecting a filter for a current image, enabling generation of 3-dimensional moving pictures.

Apparatus generating 3-dimensional image from 2-dimensional image and method thereof

A method of enhancing a color temperature of a color image includes calculating gains for input image signals based on a predetermined gain function. A first offset value corresponding to a change in a pedetermined color temperature of output signals is calculated. A second offset value is calculated based on the gains and the first offset value. The second offset value is added to a B signal of the output signals. A compensation gain is calculated in consideration of intensity of the B signal to which the second offset value is added. The compensation gain is added to a G signal. Thus, a desired color temperature can be obtained regardless of the intensities of R, G, and B signals.
