A monolithic 3-D printed nozzle assembly that produces a variable water pattern includes a first translucent hollow section portion that receives a first stream of water and provides a linear stream of water moving along a longitudinal axis of the first section. A translucent tangential injector portion integrally formed with the first section defines at least one passageway. The injector portion receives a second stream of water and directs it to rotate about a rotational axis using the passageway(s). A second translucent hollow section portion integrally extends from the first section and receives the linear stream of water from the first section and the second stream of water rotating about the rotational axis from the tangential injector, providing a third stream of water formed therefrom. A third translucent hollow section portion integrally extends from the second section and receives the third stream of water, directing it to an exterior environment.

There is disclosed a modular sensory platform for generating an experience for a guest on the platform located on an event floor of a venue. At least one deck module may each include a frame with a bottom side for mounting to the event floor, a side edge bordering the frame, and a standing surface opposite the bottom for supporting the guest. Lift actuators may be positioned along the side edge or under the deck for changing a distance between the event floor and the standing surface according to a lift signal. One or more sensory stimuli each receivable of a stimulus signal may be mounted to the frame and include at least one of a vibration buzzer, a low-frequency transducer, smoke effects, a heater, a water spritzer, air and scent lines, an air blaster and scent emission, a haptic device, fiber optic lighting, LED lighting, and a fog unit.

Modular sensory platform

The invention is directed to an apparatus for use in producing a simulated flame/fire effect using steam or theatrical smoke. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an first chamber for receiving steam or theatrical smoke, an annular second chamber that surrounds the first chamber and defines an annular closed-loop slot through which a closed-loop sheet of steam or theatrical smoke exits, a passageway for conveying smoke from the first chamber to the annular second chamber, a lighting structure for projecting light onto the steam or theatrical smoke exiting the annular slot, and an air modulator for modulating the position of the steam or theatrical smoke exiting the slot.

Apparatus for producing a fire special effect

The invention is directed to special effect device that is used to produce a simulated flame that has the shape and, if desired, the color characteristics of an actual flame. The device is particularly adapted to applications in which individuals may be in close proximity to the device. In this regard, the device produces little noise that would indicate to such an individual that the simulated being produced by the device is not a real flame. In one embodiment, the device includes a sintered nozzle that receives a stream of steam and outputs a steam cloud, a steam accelerator for applying a linear stream of air to steam cloud output by the sintered nozzle, and a lighting system to project desired colors onto the linear steam cloud.

Simulated fire effect using steam

The invention is directed to special effect device that is used to produce a simulated flame that has the shape and, if desired, the color characteristics of the flame produced by a jet afterburner. In one embodiment, the device includes a steam system for providing a stream of steam, a steam accelerator for applying a high-speed and highly linear stream of air to steam provided by the steam system to produce at steam cloud with a highly linear shape similar to the shape of the flame produced by a jet afterburner, and a lighting system to project desired colors onto the linear steam cloud.

The present invention is directed to an apparatus for producing a water maze from walls of falling water that can be reconfigured to change the maze. In one embodiment, the apparatus is comprised of a plurality of spray bars that are each capable of producing a separate wall of falling water droplets and a plurality of water valves that are each associated with only one spray bar. The water valves can be used to define at least two different paths between the entrance and exit of the maze. The apparatus is also capable of being used to create interesting visual effects by projecting light/images on to multiple screens created by walls of falling water droplets.

Apparatus for producing reconfigurable walls of water

The invention is directed to a slide with at least a portion of the slide being covered so as to define a tunnel in which a user of the slide is likely to having difficulty seeing where the slide is taking them and a lighting effect that uses invisible light (e.g., ultraviolet light, black light, or infrared light) and an element that, in response to invisible light, produces visible light in the tunnel that is capable of being seen by a user that is passing through the tunnel. Also provided is a method for retrofitting an existing amusement slide that has a tunnel without such a lighting effect or that has a tunnel with inadequate or undesirable lighting effect.

The present invention is directed a projection system that produces a visual special effect. In one embodiment, the system includes a projector, a translucent projection substrate, a flow disturbance structure associated with one side of the substrate, and a water system for distributing water over the side of the substrate with which the flow disturbance structure is associated.

The present invention provides a blacklight or ultraviolet light special effect fixture for use in emulating a shimmering or water ripple type of pattern. In one embodiment, the fixture includes a drum, a motor for rotating the drum and a frame for positioning the drum between a blacklight source and a uv treated projection surface.

A method of combining projected images with a three dimensional set. In the present invention, a three dimensional set of any desired scale is provided. A second set is then built for use by live actors and other desired images to be incorporated into the three dimensional scene. Props are disposed on the second set and corresponds to the three dimensional scenes. These second set props are blacked out so that when photographed they are rendered invisible. A beam splitter is provided in front of the three dimensional set and a monitor is positioned to reflect a video image from the second set on to the beam splitter. The actors and props on the second set are then positioned to achieve the desired scale. For example, the projected image of the actor may be life size, smaller than life size or larger than life size. The actor is then filmed in real time interacting with the blacked out second set props and the image is recorded. The recorded image is then played back on the monitor reflected on to the beam splitter to give the illusion that the recorded image is interacting with the props in a three dimensional set. The live image may be transmitted directly to the monitor for projection on to the beam splitter without first recording it, if desired.
