A pipe insulation product including a core of insulating material and a laminate surrounding the core and bonded to the core. The core may include an outer surface; an inner surface; and a wall extending between the outer and inner surfaces. The laminate may include a foil or metallized polymeric film sheet, a scrim, a porous media sheet, and a polymeric film sheet bonded together via an adhesive. The laminate may include a closure flap that is configured to adhesively seal opposite ends of the laminate together to form a cylindrical tube with the core enclosed therein. The closure flap may be configured to include a curl that provides a greater closure flap adhesive seal.

A pipe insulation product including a core of insulating material and a laminate. The core includes a cylindrical outer surface; a cylindrical inner surface; and a wall extending between the cylindrical outer surface and the cylindrical inner surface. The laminate includes a metallized polymeric film sheet layer forming an inner layer, a scrim, a porous media sheet layer, and a polymeric film sheet layer forming an outer exposed layer bonded together via an adhesive. The laminate is coextensive with and bonded to the cylindrical outer surface of the core and the laminate and core are flexible so that the core and laminate can be opened, placed about a pipe, and closed without degrading the laminate.

Systems and methods for insulating a pipe

A pipe insulation product including a core of insulating material and a roughly rectangular laminate. The core may include an outer surface; an inner surface; and a wall extending between the outer and inner surfaces. The laminate may include a foil or metallized polymeric film sheet, a scrim, a paper media sheet, and a polymeric film sheet bonded together via an adhesive. The laminate may include a closure flap that adhesively seals opposite ends of the laminate together to form a cylindrical tube with the core enclosed therein. The paper media sheet may be between the range of 20 and 40 pounds per 3000 square feet to provide greater closure flap seal integrity without significantly reducing one or more beneficial properties of the laminate.

Pipe insulation products and methods

A facing laminate for insulation products includes: a foil or metallized polymeric film sheet layer forming an inner layer of the laminate that is adapted be bonded directly to a surface of an insulation product; a paper composite sheet layer, which may include synthetic and/or inorganic fibers, forming an outer exposed layer of the laminate; and a scrim intermediate and bonded to the foil or metallized polymeric film sheet and paper composite sheet layers. The facing laminate may include a humectant and/or a water, oil, and/or grease repellant component. The paper composite sheet layer of the laminate exhibits greater dimensional stability and reduced wrinkling when the laminate is exposed to conditions of high humidity. Insulation products to be faced with this facing laminate include pipe insulation, duct board, duct wrap insulation, metal building insulation, and other building insulation products.

Facing and faced insulation products

A pipe insulation product including a core of insulating material and a roughly rectangular laminate. The polymeric film sheet layer may also include a closure flap that adhesively couples opposite ends of the laminate together to form a cylindrical tube with the core enclosed therein. A charge dissipator may be applied to the polymeric film sheet layer in an amount sufficient to reduce generation of a static charge on the laminate's exterior surface without affecting the closure flap's ability to adhesively couple the opposite ends of the laminate.

An acoustical and thermal insulation product suitable for use in an aircraft is provided, comprising an insulation layer formed from a sheet of insulation material, wherein the sheet of insulation material is arranged to form a series of undulations defining a series of alternating upper ridges and lower ridges of the sheet.

Insulation product and system suitable for use in an aircraft

An acoustical and thermal insulation product suitable for use in an aircraft is provided, comprising: an insulation layer formed from a sheet of insulation material, wherein the sheet of insulation material is arranged to form a series of undulations defining a series of alternating upper ridges and lower ridges of the sheet, and a plurality of elongated reinforcing members for reinforcing the insulation product.

Reinforced insulation product and system suitable for use in an aircraft

An acoustical and thermal insulation product suitable for use in an aircraft is provided, comprising: an insulation layer formed from at least one sheet of insulation material, and a plurality of elongated reinforcing members for reinforcing the insulation product, wherein the plurality of elongated reinforcing members comprises fiber glass and a resin.

A gypsum board/intumescent material ceiling board includes a gypsum board and a fire-resistive barrier. A first major surface of the gypsum board is an upper side for abutting framing and a second major surface of the gypsum board is an underside for facing a room interior. The fire-resistive barrier is a layer of intumescent coating material applied to and coextensive with one of the major surfaces of the gypsum board. The intumescent coating material contains expandable graphite and a corrosion inhibitor in sufficient quantities to provide a corrosion inhibiting layer on metal surfaces, such as the surfaces of metal fasteners, with which the intumescent coating material comes in contact. In addition, the intumescent coating material has a pH greater than 7.0 to reduce corrosive properties of the intumescent material and provide a chemical environment conducive to the forming of the corrosion inhibiting layer by the corrosion inhibitor.

Gypsum board/intumescent material ceiling boards

An intumescent material includes a liquid carrier with a corrosion inhibitor, such as a coating forming material, expandable particulate graphite (flake graphite or lump graphite) and if desired a filler. The intumescent material has a pH greater than 7.0, to reduce the corrosive properties of the intumescent material for most metals used in the construction industry and to provide a chemical environment conducive to the forming of a corrosion inhibiting layer by the corrosion inhibitor. The method of making the intumescent material includes combining the liquid carrier, the corrosion inhibitor, the expandable particulate graphite, the filler (if used), and a pH enhancer (if necessary to bring the intumescent material within the desired pH range), to form an intumescent material having a pH greater than 7.0.
