A system, apparatus, and method for providing an automated translation engine for translating a prescription into a standardized format is generally disclosed. More particularly, embodiments described in this disclosure relate to a system, apparatus, and method for automatically receiving a prescription form, analyzing information provided on the prescription form, and translating the information into a standardized form that details medication information including medication administration directions that are easy for a reader to understand.

A method and system may provide an automated pharmacy processing system which automatically processes an electronic prescription by converting the electronic prescription into a pharmacy prescription record. In this way, an electronic prescription can be filled by a pharmacist without manual data entry. The system receives an electronic prescription and compares data from the electronic prescription with entries in one or more pharmacy database(s). When one or more data from the electronic prescription is different from the entries in the one or more pharmacy database(s), the electronic prescription data is combined into a combined component that is compatible with the pharmacy prescription record. The combined component is then automatically entered in the pharmacy prescription record, enabling the pharmacist to fill the electronic prescription.

System and method for automating pharmacy processing of electronic prescriptions

A method and system may provide an automated pharmacy processing system which automatically processes an electronic prescription by converting the electronic prescription into a pharmacy prescription record. In this way, an electronic prescription can be filled by a pharmacist without manual data entry. Systems and methods may be provided that may enable an individual to retrieve one or more prescription products (e.g., product refills) from a self-service retrieval location such as a counter, drive-thru, drop box, or kiosk. A unique-machine readable code may be associated with a particular one or more prescription products (e.g., associated with a medical prescription of a patient). The unique machine-readable code may be provided to a computing device of the individual, along with an anticipated time of preparedness of the one or more products for retrieval at the retrieval location. Identification of the unique machine-readable code may result in dispensing of the one or more prescription products associated at the retrieval location.

The unique machine-readable code may be transmitted to a computing device of the individual, who may scan the code at particular station to retrieve one or more prescription products associated with the medical prescription.
