Techniques are provided for determining the position of co-located wireless nodes. An example method for positioning co-located user equipment in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) environment includes determining a first distance to a first wireless node, sending an indication of a co-located state to a second wireless node based at least in part on the first distance to the first wireless node, receiving a first position estimate based at least in part on radio frequency signal exchanges between the first wireless node and the second wireless node, determine a second distance to the first wireless node, sending an indication of a non-co-located state to the second wireless node based at least in part on the second distance to the first wireless node, and determining a second position estimate based at least in part on radio frequency signal exchanges with the second wireless node.

Positioning co-located user equipment in a vehicle to everything (V2X) environment

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration to be used by the UE for cellular communication with the base station, wherein the DRX configuration indicates a DRX cycle that includes an active time during which the UE is to monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and an inactive time during which the UE is to refrain from monitoring the PDCCH; identify a time window for sidelink communication with another UE based at least in part on the DRX configuration; and communicate using one or more sidelink resources in the identified time window. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for determining a Zone identifier (ID), Zone Center, and negative acknowledgement (NACK) ranges. Included are operations and means at a receiving user equipment (UE) to determine a current geographic location (GLL) of the receiving UE, and select a Zone ID based on a two-dimensional (2-D) lookup into an indexed array with the current GLL, the indexed array storing Zone data for one or more geographic Zones. The Zone data for each geographic Zone may be indexed according to geographic position, and include a Zone ID, Zone center, and one or more NACK ranges, each NACK range corresponding with a geographic Zone disposed about the geographic Zone corresponding to the Zone ID. Operations further include performing a NACK operation based on the selected Zone ID and a NACK range.

Determination of geographic ranges in sidelink communications introduction

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a second UE, a first control signal indicating a range value corresponding to a threshold distance for triggering feedback reporting from the first UE for transmissions from the second UE. The first UE may calculate a traversable distance corresponding to a traversable route between the first UE and the second UE, determine, based on the calculated traversable distance and the range value, whether the first UE is within the threshold distance for triggering feedback reporting, and perform, based on whether the first UE is within the threshold distance, a feedback procedure for the feedback reporting. The first UE may receive, from the second UE, a second control signal indicating a type of distance measurement corresponding to the threshold distance for triggering feedback reporting.
