A catheter system may include a catheter adapter, which may include a distal end and a proximal end. The catheter system may include a catheter, which may include a distal end, a proximal end, a catheter lumen extending through the distal end of the catheter and the proximal end of the catheter, and an inner surface forming the catheter lumen. The catheter may extend distally from the distal end of the catheter adapter. The distal end of the catheter may include one or more holes. The distal end of the catheter may include one or more channels. The holes and/or the channels may facilitate visualization of blood flashback indicating the catheter is disposed within a vein of a patient.

Confirmation of catheter placement within a vein

A catheter system may include a catheter assembly, which may include a catheter adapter and a catheter. The catheter system may also include a needle assembly, which may include a needle hub and an introducer needle. A proximal end of the introducer needle may be secured within the needle hub, and a distal end of the introducer needle may extend beyond a distal end of the catheter. The catheter system may include a vent plug. A distal end of the vent plug may include a male luer adapter, which may include a cannula and a collar surrounding the cannula. The cannula may include a cavity to receive blood flowing proximally through the introducer needle. A proximal end of the cavity may be formed by a wall extending across the cannula and disposed within the needle hub. The cannula may be inserted into the proximal end of the needle hub.

Catheter system facilitating blood flashback visualization

A catheter system may include a catheter assembly. The catheter assembly may include the catheter adapter, which may include a distal end, a proximal end, an inner surface forming a lumen, the lumen extending through the distal end and the proximal end, and a side port disposed between the distal end and the proximal end. The catheter assembly may include an annular valve, which may be disposed within the lumen and aligned with the side port. The annular valve may seal a fluid pathway from the side port to the lumen. The catheter assembly may include a retainer ring disposed proximal and/or proximate the annular valve within the lumen. The catheter assembly may include a catheter extending distally from the distal end of the catheter adapter.

Valve retainer ring and related systems and methods

A catheter assembly may include a catheter hub and a catheter tube, which may extend distally from the catheter hub. The catheter assembly may include a push tab and one or more ribs extending outwardly from an upper portion of the catheter hub. The ribs may be shorter in height than the push tab and proximal to the push tab. A needle assembly may include a needle hub, an introducer needle extending distally from the needle hub and through the catheter tube, and a grip coupled to the needle hub. The grip may include a face disposed outwardly from the push tab and the ribs. A grip of a user may contact the push tab, the ribs, and the face to reduce rotation between the catheter hub and the needle hub in response to distal advancement of the catheter hub.

Anti-rotation catheter devices, systems, and methods

A pediatric catheter system may include a catheter adapter having a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The lumen may include an upper surface and a lower surface with an adhesive coupled to the lower surface. The system may include a plurality of wings that extend outwardly from the catheter adapter. The plurality of wings may be configured to fold upwardly. The system may include a catheter cannula extending distally from the catheter adapter. The system may include a needle hub removably coupled to a proximal end of the catheter adapter and an introducer needle extending through the catheter tube. A proximal end of the introducer needle may be secured within the needle hub.
