Methods and thermally stable aqueous borate-based cross-linking suspensions for treatment of subterranean formations

The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for recovery of hydrocarbons from subterranean formations. The compositions may be dry blends of synthetic and naturally derived polymers. The blend compositions may also be produced as high activity solvent-based fluidized polymer suspensions. Either in dry or liquid forms, the blend compositions provide higher proppant carrying capacity in comparison to conventional solutions, as well as improved breakability and crosslinking capacity.

High-temperature high-pressure (HTHP) stable synthetic polymer for water based oil-well servicing fluids

What is described herein is an aqueous high-temperature high-pressure (HTHP) stable drilling mud composition comprising (i) about 20 wt. % to about 80 wt. % of 0-60% w/w brine solution; (ii) about 0.1 wt. % to about 3 wt. % of butylated reaction product of p-cresol and dicyclopentadiene, a polymeric hindered phenol based antioxidant; (iii) about 0.1 wt. % to about 10.0 wt. % of triethanol amine, a chelating agent; (iv) (a) about 0.1 wt. % to about 10 wt. % of rheology modifier (RM); and/or (b) about 0.5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of fluid loss additive (FLA); (v) about 20 wt. % to about 80 wt. % of weighting agent; (vi) about 0 wt. % to about 20 wt. % of drilling solid; and (vii) about 0 wt. % to about 50 wt % of water.

High pressure high temperature (HPHT) aqueous drilling mud composition and process for preparing the same

The present application relates to an oil and gas treatment composition comprising (i) a blend of hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) and crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone, (ii) an aqueous based continuous phase, (iii) a reactive clay or shale material, and (iv) at least one drilling fluid additive. The present application also relates to a method for inhibiting hydration of clays or shale materials in drilling a subterranean well using the composition. A different embodiment of the application discloses that the composition additionally comprises organophilic clay, a stabilizer and white medicinal oil.

Oil and gas treatment composition comprising hydroxyethyl cellulose and crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone

The present disclosure relates generally to a composition comprising a low molecular weight graft polymer. The graft polymer is a graft homopolymer, copolymer or terpolymer. Additionally, the present disclosure relates to a scale inhibitor composition comprising the low molecular weight graft polymer. Furthermore, the present disclosure relates to a process for preventing the deposition of scale from water or aqueous solution and a method for scale inhibition treatment of an oil or gas production well by using the low molecular weight graft polymer. The scale inhibitor is low corrosive for application in the oilfield.

A cement composition for use in an oil or gas well, the cement composition comprises: a calcium aluminate cement; water; an organic acid; and a polymeric mixture comprising: (A) water; (B) citric acid; (C) a first polymer, wherein the first polymer: (i) comprises a cellulose backbone and carboxymethyl functional groups; and (ii) has a molecular weight of less than 100,000; and (D) a second polymer, wherein the second polymer: (i) comprises a lignosulfonate; and (ii) has a molecular weight of less than 100,000, wherein a test composition consisting essentially of: the cement; the water; the organic acid; and the polymeric mixture, and in the same proportions as in the cement composition has a thickening time of at least 5 hours at a temperature of 300&#xb0; F. (148.9&#xb0; C.) and a pressure of 10,000 psi (68.9 MPa).

Calcium aluminate cement composition containing a set retarder of an organic acid and a polymeric mixture

An aqueous based functional system contains a stable fluid polymer suspension (FPS) thickening agent of a polysaccharide, polyethylene glycol (PEG), and hydrated thickening silica. The functional systems may be formulations of personal care excluding oral care, household care, oil field servicing fluids, Civil Engineering servicing fluids, paper coatings, construction fluids, ceramic glazes, foods, firefighting retardants, mineral processing, aqueous based coatings, building materials, construction, pharmaceuticals, medical care, paper making process, and paper coating. The FPS provides to the functional system comparable or better rheology and viscosity properties as compared to when using similar thickening agents in dry, solid form. A method of preparing the aqueous based functional system is also provided by adding a sufficient amount of a stable FPS that is compatible with the functional system to the system to thicken the functional system.

Oil-well cement fluid loss additive compostion

An oilfield servicing fluid composition containing an aldehyde guar produced by enzymatic oxidation of a non-derivatized, straight guar or of a guar derivative. The enzyme used to oxidize the guar to the aldehyde guar is galactose oxidase, which may be combined with catalase or catalase and peroxidase. The aldehyde guar is useful as an effective gelling agent for oilfield servicing fluids such as hydraulic fracturing fluids and stimulation fluids.

A completion and workover fluid composition comprising, water and at least one rheology modifier and/or fluid loss control agent, and at least one other ingredient selected from the group consisting of inorganic salts, shale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitor, biocide, defoamers and finely divided solids particles (e.g., bentonite, attapulgite, sepiolite, calcium carbonate, etc.), depending upon the desired attributes, wherein the rheology modifier and/or the fluid loss control agent is an ethoxylated raw cotton linters or a modified ethoxylated raw cotton linters. These ethoxylated raw cotton linters derivatives are suitable for applications in oil-well servicing fluids, particularly to enhance functional properties of completion and workover fluids used during oil-well drilling operations.

A water-based drilling fluid composition includes water and at least one rheology modifier and/or fluid loss control agent, and at least one other ingredient of polymeric additive, inorganic salts, dispersants, shale stabilizers, weighting agents, or finely divided clay particles, depending upon the desired attributes, wherein the rheology modifier and/or the fluid loss control agent comprises carboxymethylated raw cotton linters (CM-RCL) made from the baled raw cotton linters or comminuted raw cotton linters with increased bulk density.

Water-based drilling fluids

This invention provides a light white mineral oil-based fluidized polymer suspension (FPS) composition for use as a rheology modifier in paper coatings. It has been found that by using a selected composition of low viscosity oil as a carrier, high solids content and environmental friendly fluidized polymer suspensions of water soluble cellulose derivatives, synthetic water soluble polymers, guar gum and derivatives, starch and derivatives and mixtures thereof, can be prepared. The FPS of the present invention was found to provide unexpected beneficial performance properties when added as a rheology modifier to a paper coating containing standard binders, pigment, and water. The oil-based fluid polymer suspension composition of the present invention for use as a rheology modifier in the paper coating comprises: a hydrophilic polymer, b) an organophilic clay, c) a surfactant stabilizer, and d) a light white mineral oil having selected properties.
