Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a vessel-wall-monitoring device () and a method for identifying the walls of blood vessel in a body. The method includes receiving, by the vessel-wall-monitoring device (), a plurality of ultrasound echo signals from a transducer, wherein the plurality of ultrasound echo signals are transmitted to the transducer from locations of the blood vessel, extracting at least two consecutive ultrasound frames from the plurality of ultrasound echo signals, determining a shift between the at least two consecutive ultrasound frames by comparing samples of the at least two consecutive ultrasound frames, and identifying, a proximal wall and a distal wall of the blood vessel based on the shift between the at least two consecutive ultrasound frames.

Methods for identifying the boundaries of a blood vessel

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an vascular-dynamics-monitoring device () and methods for tracing a motion of boundaries of a vessel in a human body. The method features an automated gating of vessel walls' echoes in an ultrasound frame input to the vessel, accurate shift estimation for the gated vessel wall region, despite the presence of echoes from moving structures adjacent to the vessel and real-time trace of vessel walls' boundaries.

Method and device for tracing the motion of blood vessel boundaries

The invention in its various embodiments relates to a method of providing surgical guidance and targeting in robotic surgery systems. The method utilizes data from a navigation system in tandem with 2-dimensional (2D) intra-operative imaging data. 2D intra-operative image data is superimposed with a pre-operative 3-dimensional (3D) image and surgery plans made in the pre-operative image coordinate system. The superimposition augments real-time intraoperative navigation for achieving image guided surgery in robotic surgery systems. Also, a robotic surgery system that incorporates the method of providing surgical guidance and targeting is disclosed. The advantages include minimizing radiation exposure to a patient by avoiding intra-operative volumetric imaging, mobility of tools, imager and robot in and out of the operating space without the need for re-calibration, and relaxing the need for repeating precise imaging positions.

Robotic surgery systems and surgical guidance methods thereof

The embodiments herein provide a system for calibration-free cuff-less evaluation of blood pressure. The system includes an ultrasound-based arterial compliance probes and a controller unit connected to the said probe. The ultrasound transducers are configured to measure the change in arterial dimensions, pulse wave velocity, and other character traits of an arterial segment over continuous cardiac cycle, which is then used to evaluate blood pressure parameters without any calibration procedure using dedicated mathematical models. The pressure sensor/force sensor/bio-potential transducers/accelerometric sensors are configured to measure a pressure acting on a skin surface at a measurement site, an internal arterial transmural pressure level, an applied pressure or a hold-down pressure on the skin surface or an arterial site, biopotential and/or plethysmograph signal, arterial vibrations acting on the measurement site as a function of the arterial pressure and the mechanical characteristics and/or a function of the applied/hold-down pressure and/or function of external factors.

Multi-modal ultrasound probe for calibration-free cuff-less evaluation of blood pressure

A system for calibration-free cuff-less evaluation of blood pressure is proposed. The system includes an ultrasound-based arterial compliance probes and a controller unit connected to the said probe. Multi-modal accelerometer probe for calibration-free cuff-less evaluation of blood pressure

Embodiments herein disclose a method and system for cuff-less blood pressure (BP) measurement of a subject. The method includes measuring, by one or more sensors, a local pulse wave velocity (PWV) and/or blood pulse waveforms of an arterial wall of the subject. Further, the method includes measuring, by an ultrasound transducer, a change in arterial dimensions over a cardiac cycle of the arterial wall of the subject. The arterial dimensions include an arterial distension and an end-diastolic diameter. Furthermore, the method includes measuring, by a controller unit, BP of the subject based on the local PWV and the change in arterial dimensions.
