A method for upgrading a naphtha feed includes passing the naphtha feed to an adsorption unit to produce at least a paraffin stream and an isoparaffin stream, wherein the isoparaffin stream comprises isoparaffins and aromatics. Passing the isoparaffin stream to an isoparaffin aromatization catalytic unit that contacts the isoparaffin stream with at least one aromatization catalyst produces aromatics from the isoparaffins thereby yielding an aromatization effluent. The at least one aromatization catalyst may comprise ZSM-5 zeolite. Benzene, toluene, and/or xylene (BTX) may be separated from the aromatization effluent by separating the aromatics effluent into a gas stream and a liquid stream in a gas/liquid separator, wherein the liquid stream contains BTX. Passing the liquid stream to a BTX-separation unit may produce a BTX stream and a recycle stream, wherein the BTX stream contains benzene, toluene, and/or xylene.

Processes for aromatization of naphtha isoparaffins

A process for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed to produce light olefins, includes contacting the hydrocarbon feed with steam in the presence of a cracking catalyst in a steam catalytic cracking reactor at reaction conditions sufficient to cause at least a portion of the hydrocarbons in the hydrocarbon feed to undergo one or more cracking reactions to produce a steam catalytic cracking effluent comprising ethylene, propylene, or both, wherein the process is capable of being transitioned between an ethylene-selective mode and a propylene-selective mode; determining whether to produce ethylene or propylene; when producing ethylene, then operating the process in ethylene-selective mode comprises producing more ethylene than propylene; or when producing propylene, then operating the process in propylene-selective mode comprises producing more propylene than ethylene.

Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and system for recycling a plastic material to produce hydrocarbons. A plastic feed and a water feed are introduced to a first stage reactor. The first stage reactor is operated at a pressure equal to or greater than 22.06 MPa and a temperature equal to or greater than 373.9 deg. C. to produce an effluent stream. Residual solid components can be removed from the effluent stream. The effluent stream is introduced to a second stage reactor. The second stage reactor is operated at a pressure less than that of the first stage reactor but equal to or greater than 22.06 MPa and a temperature greater than that of the first stage reactor to produce a product stream. The plastic feed can include polyolefins. Optionally, a sulfur additive feed can be introduced either to the first stage reactor or the second stage reactor. Optionally, a residual oil feed can be introduced either to the first stage reactor or the second stage reactor.
