An anticorrosive nanocomposite is described. The anticorrosive nanocomposite includes a cured epoxy and jute carbon. The jute carbon is in the form of flakes. The flakes have a particle size of 0.05-15 micrometers (μm). Particles of the jute carbon are dispersed in the cured epoxy. A method of preparing the jute carbon is also described.

Anticorrosive nanocomposite

A cement composition includes a curable component in an amount of 10 to 25 wt. %; a fine aggregate (FA) in an amount of 20 to 40 wt. %; a coarse aggregate (CA) in an amount of 40 to 50 wt. %; and an alkaline component in an amount of 5 to 15 wt. %, each wt. % based on the total weight of the cement composition. The curable component includes a cementitious material having an average particle size (D) of 10 to 17 micrometers (μm), a limestone powder (LSP) material having a Dof 13 to 19 μm, a red mud (RM) material having a Dof 30 to 36 μm, a silicomanganese fume (SMF) material having a Dof 28 to 34 μm, and a natural pozzolan (NP) material having a Dof 13 to 19 μm.

Alkali-activated cement composition

A method for producing a submicron-/nano-jute carbon/epoxy composite anti-corrosion coating is described. The method includes heating a jute stick, grinding the jute stick to form a first powder; pyrolyzing the first powder to form a pyrolyzed carbon; grinding the pyrolyzed carbon to form a second powder; ball milling the second powder under the wet conditions to form a submicron-/nano-jutecarbon; mixing the submicron-/nano-jutecarbon, and an epoxy resin to form a first mixture; mixing a hardener with the first mixture to form a second mixture, and coating the second mixture on a mild steel substrate and curing to form the submicron-/nano-jutecarbon/epoxy composite anti-corrosion coating.

A mortar composition, which includes (i) a treated palm oil fuel ash, wherein the treated palm oil fuel ash is the only binder present, (ii) a fine aggregate, (iii) an alkali activator containing an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate, and (iv) aluminum hydroxide as a strength enhancer. A cured mortar made from the mortar composition is also disclosed with advantageous compressive strength properties.

A green concrete and mortar compositions free of Portland cement are disclosed. The compositions comprise Natural pozzolan, nanosilica particles, and alkaline activator. The green concrete produced from the composition of the invention is cured at ambient temperature and has higher compressive strength than that of concrete made with Portland cement.

Method of making an ash-based mortar composition

A cementitious blend composition and a concrete mix composition preferable for making concrete resistant to high temperatures and alkaline conditions, particularly for making durable concrete for constructing an alumina digester tank in an aluminum smelter. The cementitious blend composition includes at least one hydraulic cement, silica fume (SF), and natural pozzolan (NP), wherein a weight percent ratio of at least one hydraulic cement:SF:NP in the cementitious blend composition lies in the range of (24-63):(5-44):(32-40) with the sum of the weight percentages of the at least one hydraulic cement, the SF, and the NP not exceeding 100%. The concrete mix composition comprises water and the cementitious blend composition, wherein a weight ratio of the water to the cementitious blend composition is 0.2-0.5, and wherein the concrete mix composition has a content of the cementitious blend composition of 400-550 kg/m.
