A system and method for handling acknowledgments in a wireless system. In some embodiments, the method includes, receiving, by a User Equipment (UE), one or more first transmissions; decoding, by the UE, the first transmissions, to generate a first sub-codebook including one or more corresponding Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Acknowledgement (HARQ ACK) bit strings each having a first length; receiving, by the UE, one or more second transmissions; decoding, by the UE, the second transmissions, to generate a second sub-codebook including one or more corresponding HARQ ACK bit strings each having a second length, greater than the first length; receiving, by the UE, one or more third transmissions; and decoding, by the UE, the third transmissions, to generate a third sub-codebook including one or more corresponding HARQ ACK bit strings each having a third length, greater than the second length.

Methods for dynamic HARQ-ACK codebook with multiple sub-codebooks

A system and a method are disclosed relating to a transport block processing chain for a transmitter. A code block determination circuit may be configured to determine a size of a code block that maps across multiple slots of a wireless physical shared channel according to a Transport Block over Multiple Slots (TBoMS) configuration, and a rate matching circuit may be configured to rate match bits of the code block to a number of bits available in a transport block that spans the predetermined number of slots of the wireless physical shared channel. Additionally, an interleaver may be configured to interleave a continuous output of the rate matching circuit on a slot basis so that a code block that crosses a slot boundary between a first slot and a second slot is interleaved within the first slot and the second slot.

In some embodiments, the method includes transmitting, by a User Equipment (UE), in a first slot, a first Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) transmission including a set of coded bits selected from a circular buffer of the UE based on a first redundancy version (RV); determining, by the UE, that a second slot is available for an earliest repetition of the first PUSCH transmission, the second slot being later than the slot immediately following the first slot; determining, by the UE, based on the second slot, a second redundancy version; and transmitting, by the UE, in the second slot, a second PUSCH transmission including a set of coded bits selected from the circular buffer of the UE based on the second redundancy version, the second PUSCH transmission being a repetition of the first PUSCH transmission.

A system and a method are disclosed for beam refinement to enable inactive mode transmission in frequency range 2 for 3GPP RedCap devices. A RedCap device receives system information in a SIB1 from a wireless network in which the SIB1 includes information relating to an indication of resources used to transmit a SIB-x. The device receives the SIB-x, which includes an indication of at least one resource, at least one configuration for a Downlink-Reference Signal (DL-RS) transmission, and information relating to a measurement report relating to the beam-refinement measurement that is to be performed by a device. The device receives the DL-RS transmission from the wireless communication network, performs the beam-refinement measurement, and sends a measurement report to the wireless network. Subsequent to sending the measurement report, the device sends an enhanced transmission to the wireless network based on the measurement report.

Beam refinement for in-active state data transmission

A system and a method are disclosed for processing data to be mapped into a transport block transmitted over a wireless physical shared channel. In one embodiment, a code block determination circuit determines a size of a code block of data that maps across at least one slot boundary of a slot of the wireless physical shared channel. A rate matching circuit rate matches bits of a code block to a number of bits available in the transport block that spans one or more slots of the wireless physical shared channel. An interleaver interleaves an output of the rate matching circuit so that a code block that crosses a slot boundary between a first slot and a second slot is interleaved between the first slot and the second slot.

A system and method for providing early indication by a reduced capability New Radio (NR) User Equipment (UE). In some embodiments the reduced capability UE informs the network, by its use of a combination of preamble, Random Access Channel Occasion (RO), and initial bandwidth part (BWP), that it is a reduced capability UE. In some embodiments, the reduced capability UE transmits payload data in a Message A message. In some embodiments, the reduced capability UE receives, from the network, a set of candidate uplink resources, and transmits a Message 3 message within a subset of the set of candidate uplink resources.

A method may include sending a contention resolution message for a random access procedure from a user equipment (UE) through a physical uplink channel in a wireless communication network, and sending a repetition of the contention resolution message from the UE through the physical uplink channel. Methods and apparatus for random access with contention resolution message repetition

Various aspects include a method for preserving a msg3 transmission. The method may include receiving, by a UE device, from a base station, a CI that overlaps with the msg3 transmission. Responsive to receiving the CI, the msg3 transmission is not canceled. Another method disclosed herein includes continuing an RA procedure. The method may include encoding a first part of the msgB. The method may include encoding a second part of the msgB. The method may include attempting to decode, by the UE device, the first part of the msgB. The method may include attempting to decode, by the UE device, the second part of the msgB. Based on successfully decoding of the first part of the msgB, and unsuccessfully decoding of the second part of the msgB, the method may include continuing the RA procedure.
