Method for securing contactless transactions

The invention relates to a method for making a transaction of a contactless application secure, said application () being stored in the mobile terminal (), said transaction taking place between the mobile terminal and a contactless reader (), said terminal including a security element (), said method comprising the following steps carried out by the mobile terminal: the application sends (E) a token representing a piece of sensitive data and a first authentication value relating to the token to the reader, the security element receives (E) the token and the related first authentication value from the reader, the security element calculates (E) a second authentication value from the received token and compares the first authentication value with the second authentication value, and sending (E) the result of the comparison to the reader, said reader cancelling the transaction if the result is negative.

Method for making contactless transactions secure

A method performed by a communicating object to obtain rights to access a communications network. The object initially has rights limited to exchanging data with a rights management platform of the network. The method includes: sending a signaling message to the platform; and receiving a communications profile specific to the network. The profile is associated in the network with rights specific to the object, referred to as 'delegated' rights. The delegated rights are defined on the basis of network access rights associated with a user of the object and referred to as 'initial' rights. The delegated rights are suitable for enabling the communicating object to access the communications network.

A system embodying the invention for verifying signatures appended to bank checks comprises a check feed stand, a CMC7 code reader, a video camera and a control equipment. The checks are conveyed across the stand and are read in turn by the code reader and the camera which respectively issue the identity of the account holder and an image of the signature appended to the check. The control equipment is preferably comprised of a microcomputer in which algorithms are resident to authenticate the signatures by comparison with previously recorded reference signatures. The signatures are represented by static parameters relating to the shapes and dimensions of their drawings. The verification method embodying the invention therein comprises an optimization algorithm resident in the control equipment in order to specifically select for each signature the parameters that should be used to minimize a decision error.
