A patient monitoring system to help manage a patient that is at risk of falling is disclosed. The system includes a patient-worn wireless sensor that can be affixed to the patient's back that senses the patient's motion and wirelessly transmits information indicative of the sensed motion to a patient monitor. The patient monitor receives, stores, and processes the transmitted information to determine whether the patient has fallen or is about to fall. Upon such detection, the system can notify the patient's caretakers that the patient has fallen or is about to fall and therefore, is in need of immediate attention.

Systems and methods for monitoring orientation to reduce pressure ulcer formation

A noninvasive blood pressure monitor. The noninvasive blood pressure monitor may include an inflatable cuff, a pressure transducer, one or more air pumps, and a processor. The processor may control the air pump(s) so as to initiate inflation of the cuff. The processor may also identify an oscillometric signal in an output of the pressure transducer, and may determine an envelope of the oscillometric signal. The processor may also determine one or more characteristics of the envelope of the oscillometric signal, and may control the air pump(s) so as to stop inflation of the cuff based on the one or more characteristics of the envelope of the oscillometric signal.

Patient monitoring systems, devices, and methods

The present disclosure relates to physiological monitoring to determine the depth of consciousness of a patient under sedation. The monitor includes an EEG sensor and a depth of consciousness monitor. The depth of consciousness monitor can utilize treatment data, such as patient data and/or drug profile information with an EEG signal to determine whether the patient is adequately sedated.

System and method for monitoring clinical activities

Systems and methods are provided for machine learning based monitoring. Image data from a camera is received. On the hardware accelerator, a person detection model based on the image data is invoked. The person detection model outputs first classification result. Based on the first classification result, a person is detected. Second image data is received from the camera. In response to detecting the person, a fall detection model is invoked on the hardware accelerator based on the second image data. The fall detection model outputs a second classification result. A potential fall based on the second classification result is detected. An alert is provided in response to detecting the potential fall.

Machine learning based monitoring system

Various patient monitoring systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for monitoring physiological parameters of a patient. A noninvasive blood pressure monitor can include an inflatable cuff, a pressure transducer, an air pump, and a plurality of air paths connecting the inflatable cuff, the pressure transducer, and the air pump. The monitor can also include an acoustic filter provided along at least one of the air paths. In some cases, the monitor can include first and second air pumps, as well as a processor to independently control operating characteristics of the air pumps. The processor can also control the air pumps so as to provide a first inflation rate for the inflatable cuff during a non-measurement portion of an inflation phase and a second, higher inflation rate during a measurement portion of the inflation phase.

Systems and methods for patient fall detection

Various noninvasive physiological sensors are described herein. Some implementations of the sensors described herein include multiple emitters and/or detectors positioned at various portions of a measurement site and configured to operate in either or both of transmittance and reflectance modes. In one implementation, a noninvasive physiological sensor includes a body portion configured to secure to a finger of a subject, an emitter operably positioned by the body portion at a first side of the finger and configured to emit light of one or more wavelengths into tissue of the finger, a first detector operably positioned by the body portion at a second side of the finger opposite the first side, and a second detector operably positioned by the body portion at a third side of the finger and offset approximately 90 degrees from the emitter with respect to an axis extending through at least a portion of the body portion.

Optical sensor with multiple detectors or multiple emitters

A patient monitor for monitoring a patient's orientation to reduce a risk of the patient developing a pressure ulcer can include one or more hardware processors that can receive and process data from a sensor to determine the patient's orientation. The one or more hardware processors can maintain a plurality of timers associated with available orientations of the patient. Each of the plurality of timers can account for a non-consecutive duration said patient is in an associated available orientation. The non-consecutive duration can vary depending on whether a patient is in the available orientation. The patient monitor can include a structured display including an orientation trend and a patient representation illustrating a current orientation of the patient. The orientation trend can include a heat map that graphically illustrates said non-consecutive durations of the patient in the available orientations and/or an orientation graph that displays the patient' orientation history.
