A rotational power slips system includes a static base comprising at least one circular opening; a rotating ring disposed within the static base and including a circular outer surface interfacing with the static base; at least one slips wedge disposed within the rotating ring and including a radially inner grip surface for gripping at least one component of a drilling string; and at least one wedge actuator disposed on the rotating ring and rotatably coupled to both the rotating ring and the slips wedge, thereby causing the slips wedge to move while the component of a drilling string is rotating.

Systems and methods for reducing friction between a casing string and a bore of a subterranean well when moving the casing string within the bore of a subterranean well include a roller bearing assembly. The roller bearing assembly has a bearing body and a plurality of spherical bearings spaced around an outer diameter of the bearing body. The bearing body is secured in line with the casing string.

Casing friction reduction methods and tool

A flow barrier for wastewater disposal ponds or pits used in oil and gas operations. The flow barrier includes a flake component, a fiber component, and a granular component. The disposal pond flow barrier may prevent the infiltration or leakage of aqueous fluids from the wastewater disposal ponds into the surrounding environment and ecosystems. A process for manufacturing and using the flow barrier in a wastewater disposal pond is also provided.

A laser cutting tool includes: an optical assembly that includes a laser generator that emits an laser beam; a reflector disposed longitudinally downstream of the laser generator; a reflector reflecting the laser beam emitted from the optical assembly; a focus lens disposed laterally beside the reflector; and a timer for controlling the tool to operate for at least one predetermined amount of time. The focus lens focuses the laser beam after it passes through the reflector.

A differential iron roughneck for making or breaking a pipe connection includes: at least one first gripping cylinder for delivering torque to a first pipe; at least one second gripping cylinder for delivering and receiving torque to and from a second pipe; and a differential gearbox including: a primary shaft delivering torque to the at least one first gripping cylinder; and a secondary shaft receiving torque from the at least one second gripping cylinder, where the primary shaft and the secondary shaft rotate at different speeds.

The clad includes a body portion, an inner ring configured to selectively rotate independently, an outer ring configured to be stationary with respect to the inner ring, the outer ring having at least two annular protrusions, a first arm configured to engage with a first annular protrusion, a second arm configured to engage with a second annular protrusion, and a stinger configured to latch into the at least one side entry port and allow the sub and the drill pipe string to rotate independent of the clad. The clad is configured to avoid or prevent stuck pipe incidents.

Systems and methods for actuating downhole devices and enabling drilling workflows from the surface

Systems and methods for reducing friction between a casing string and a bore of a subterranean well when moving the casing string within the bore of a subterranean well include a roller bearing assembly. The roller bearing assembly has a bearing body and a plurality of spherical bearings spaced around an outer diameter of the bearing body. The bearing body is sized to be removably attached to an outer diameter of the casing string and to be stationary relative to the casing string.

Systems and methods for extinguishing a hydrocarbon well include a housing with an inner chamber sized for placement over a wellhead member. The inner chamber extends from a base of the housing to a roof of the housing. An extinguishing materials injection system is operable to deliver extinguishing materials to the inner chamber of the housing. A valve is located at the roof of the housing. A ram sealing system is located at the base of the housing. The ram sealing system has a pair of rams, each ram having an engaging surface. The engaging surface is sized and shaped to seal around the wellhead member when the ram sealing system is in a closed position. The pair of rams are rotationally attached to a ram body. An arm link rotationally links each ram to the ram body.

Systems and methods for extinguishing oil and gas wells

Multiple wires run parallel to one another. Each of wires is spaced apart from each adjacent wire at a distance less than a width of an encased microchip. Each of the plurality of wires includes a plurality of straight segments in a plane and bent segments that connect two of the plurality of straight segments. For each of the wires, each bent segments includes a first end, a second end, and a curved portion curved away from the plane. The first end is connected to at least one of the straight segments and separated from the second end a distance greater than the width of the encased microchip. The curved portion includes a diameter greater than the width of the encased microchip.

Collecting drilling microchips

A system and method for covering a cellar at a wellhead to prevent and control fluids and gases from the cellar. The covering includes a mat that circumscribes a wellhead tubular that projects upward from the cellar. A split seam in the mat extends radially from the opening to the mat outer periphery which allows the mat to be placed around the wellhead tubular. A fastener joins the ends of the mat that meet at the split seam. The mat includes a collar, which mounts to the mat along the opening and extends axially away from an upper surface of the mat. The collar is secured to the wellhead tabular with a strap. Two discharge lines project through the mat into the cellar, one for pumping into the cellar, and one for withdrawing fluid that has collected in the cellar.

A system and method for sealing around a fluid flow member includes a ram closing assembly. The ram closing assembly has a sealing chamber having a generally cylindrical shape when the ram closing assembly is in a closed position. A ram assembly is located at an end of the sealing chamber. The ram assembly has a pair of rams, each ram having an engaging surface, the engaging surface sized and shaped to seal around the fluid flow member. The ram assembly also has an actuating arm assembly connected to one of the rams and a ram body. The pair of rams is rotationally attached to the ram body.
