Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect a misbehavior condition in a local vehicle-to-everything (V2X) information source. The UE may receive an incoming V2X message. The UE may generate a misbehavior decision for the incoming V2X message based at least in part on the misbehavior condition in the local V2X information source. Numerous other aspects are described.

Notifying local vehicle-to-everything misbehavior to receive-side local misbehavior detection system

Various embodiments include methods and systems for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system of a vehicle for managing processing of a basic safety message (BSM). Various embodiments may include calculating a relevancy value of a received BSM prior to conducting security processing of the BSM, determining whether the relevancy value of the BSM meets a relevancy threshold, and stopping processing of the BSM in response to determining that the relevancy value of the BSM does not meet the relevancy threshold.

Managing processing of a basic safety message

Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media for wireless communications. For example, an example of a process includes determining, at the first network device, an estimated location of a second network device. The process may further include comparing, at the first network device, the estimated location with an expected location for the second network device. The process may include determining, at the first network device, whether the second network device is a misbehaving device based on the comparing. The process may further include generating, at the first network device, a report based on the determining of whether the second device is a misbehaving device.

Misbehavior detection service for sharing connected and sensed objects

Various embodiments include methods and systems for performing misbehavior detection in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) message. Various embodiments may include a V2X system of a vehicle comparing a first field in a first V2X message of a first V2X message type to a second field in a second V2X message of a second V2X message type, wherein the second V2X message type is different from the first V2X message type, identifying misbehavior in either the first V2X message or the second V2X message based on the comparison, and taking an action in response to identifying misbehavior in the first V2X message or the second V2X message.

Cross-type misbehavior detection in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) message

Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media for wireless communications. For example, a process may include determining a potential position overlap between a first vehicle and a second vehicle and determining a characteristic of at least one of the first vehicle or the second vehicle based on information from a vehicle-based message. The process may include determining whether the potential position overlap is an actual position overlap between the first vehicle and the second vehicle based on the characteristic.

A first UE may receive a V2X message from a second UE. The V2X message may be a suspicious message. The V2X message may include a plurality of values. Each value in the plurality of values may correspond to a respective field in a plurality of fields. The first UE may identify a health score associated with the V2X message. The first UE may adjust at least one value in the plurality of values if the health score is greater than a threshold. Accordingly, a health level of a suspicious V2X message may be analyzed quantitatively. A suspicious V2X message with a sufficiently low health level may be suppressed. Moreover, a correctable field value in a suspicious V2X message may be corrected based on a computed, measured, or prestored value.

Error correction system for a misbehavior detection system

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device may detect vehicle-to-everything (VX) fuzzing attacks. The communication device may receive a set of packets. Each packet of the set of packets includes a set of information element (IE) fields. The communication device determine a change to one or more IE fields of the set of IE fields and associated with at least a subset of packets of the set of packets based on comparing a respective value associated with each of the one or more IE fields to a respective default value associated with each of the one or more IE fields. As a result, the communication device may transmit a report indicating a plurality of fuzzing attacks at the communication device.

Various embodiments may include a network computing device of a V2X network receiving a plurality of maneuver coordination messages from a plurality of vehicles, identifying an inconsistency among the plurality of maneuver coordination messages, identifying a misbehavior condition in response to identifying the inconsistency among the plurality of maneuver coordination messages, and taking an action in response to identifying the misbehavior condition.

Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media for wireless communications. For example, an example of a process includes detecting an object based on sensor data from at least one sensor of the network device. The process further includes receiving, by the network device, a vehicle-based message comprising message data related to the object. The process further includes comparing, by the network device, the sensor data and the message data and detecting, by the network device, malicious behavior based on the comparing.

Sensor misbehavior detection system utilizing communications

Various embodiments include methods and systems for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system of a vehicle for managing transmission of misbehavior reports. Various embodiments may include generating a misbehavior report based on a detected V2X misbehavior, assigning a priority or a transmission probability to the generated misbehavior report based on an external condition related to the detected V2X misbehavior, and transmitting the misbehavior report based on the assigned priority or transmission probability.

Managing transmission of misbehavior reports

Various embodiments include methods and systems for managing a volume of misbehavior reports. In various embodiments, a vehicle processing system may identify one or more misbehavior observations from among a plurality of misbehavior observations made by the vehicle processing system based on one or more volume management criteria for misbehavior report generation, generate a misbehavior report including information about the identified misbehavior observations, and transmit the generated misbehavior report to a network computing device.

Managing a volume of misbehavior reports

Embodiments include methods performed by vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system for protecting proprietary data within misbehavior reports. Various embodiments may include detecting misbehavior conditions based on received sensor data, determining whether the received sensor data that supports a conclusion that a misbehavior condition has occurred is or includes proprietary information, and encrypting the sensor data that supports the conclusion that the misbehavior condition has occurred in response to determining that the received sensor data is or includes the proprietary information. Various embodiments may further include generating a misbehavior report including the received sensor data that supports the conclusion that the misbehavior condition has occurred in response to determining that the misbehavior condition has occurred, in which the received sensor data included in the misbehavior report is encrypted in response to determining that the received sensor data is or includes proprietary information, and transmitting the generated misbehavior report to a misbehavior managing authority.

Method and system for protecting proprietary information used to determine a misbehavior condition for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) reporting

In an aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) device onboard a vehicle includes receiving one or more V2X safety messages indicating a potential safety condition related to illumination of an object; determining, in response to the one or more V2X safety messages, that the object is within or approaching a target area in which illumination of the object by headlights of the vehicle can be adjusted; and controlling an illumination intensity and/or an illumination pattern of the headlights of the vehicle in response to determining that the object is within the target area.

In various embodiments, a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) processing device may receive V2X messages from intelligent transportation system (ITS) stations, analyze information in received V2X messages to detect misbehavior conditions, and add a station identifier associated with a V2X message received from an ITS station to a local blocking list in response to detecting a misbehavior condition in the V2X message received from the ITS station. In various embodiments, a vehicle processing device may receive a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) message from an ITS participant, the message including an ITS participant type indication, determine detector settings based on the ITS participant type for one or more detectors configured to evaluate an aspect of the ITS participant, determine whether information in the V2X message is plausible using the detector settings based on the ITS participant type for the one or more detectors, and perform a security action in response to determining that the information in the V2X message is not plausible.
