A Human-Machine Interface (HMI) system provides graphical displays to communication devices. The HMI system processes status data from machine systems to generate display data for the graphical displays. The HMI system receives selection information indicating one of the communication devices and one of the graphical displays. In response, the HMI system retrieves display parameters for the selected communication device and retrieves the display data for the selected graphical display. The HMI system processes the display data and the display parameters to display a first model of the selected communication device rendering the selected graphical display. The HMI system allows the user to modify the graphical display and view a second model of the communication device rendering the modified graphical display.

Communication device display visualization tool for a human-machine interface

A method for remote monitoring of real-time information is provided. In the method, a representation is displayed of each of a plurality of items configured to generate the real-time information. Also displayed is a representation of each of a plurality of destinations configured to receive the real-time information. The real-time information is received from the items. A command is received which selects one of the items and one of the destinations. After receiving the command, at least a portion of the real-time information received from the selected item is transmitted to the selected destination.

Remote monitoring of real-time industrial automation information

Within an industrial automation environment, a human-machine interface (HMI) is provided comprising a HMI computer, a display electrically coupled with the computer, and a controller wirelessly coupled with the computer. The controller is configured to detect motion of the controller, and wirelessly transmit motion data related to the motion of the controller to the HMI computer. The HMI computer is configured to receive industrial automation data, wirelessly receive motion data from the controller, process the motion data into control data, and select a first set of industrial automation data for display in response to the control data.
