Methods and systems are discussed. In some cases, the methods may include deploying a modular untethered downhole tool in a wellbore. The modular untethered downhole tool includes a positive buoyant system and a sensing system with a sensor. The sensing system is threadedly attached to the positive buoyant system. The positive buoyant system may be replaced by threading a replacement positive buoyant system to the sensing system.

Systems and methods for untethered wellbore investigation using modular autonomous device

An untethered device includes a housing, a chamber wall extending from the housing and defining a buoyancy chamber, and a discharge door. The discharge door is configured to be placed in a closed position that isolates a ballast weight within the buoyancy chamber and an open position that allows a release of the ballast weight from the untethered device to reduce a bulk density of the untethered device.

The second portion includes a polymer matrix. The metallic particles of the first portion are distributed throughout the polymer matrix of the second portion. The second portion is configured to dissolve in response to being exposed to downhole fluid within the well at specified downhole conditions, thereby releasing the metallic particles of the first portions from the polymer matrix that has dissolved.

A method to perform a field operation with well log repeatability verification is disclosed. The method includes generating, by repeatedly performing well logging of a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation in a field, a set of well log data files each comprising a plurality of data channels, each data channel comprising a series of measurement data records representing a downhole property along a depth in the wellbore, analyzing, by a computer processor, a main log and a repeat log of the set of well log data files to determine a repeatability measure of the set of well log data files, presenting, using a graphical user interface, the repeatability measure to a user, and facilitating, based on a user input in response to presenting the repeatability measure, the field operation.

System and method for well log repeatability verification

A system and method map a borehole using LIDAR. The system comprises a tool and a mapping sub-system. The tool includes an intermediate LIDAR sub-system and a distal LIDAR sub-system. System and method for mapping a borehole using lidar

A method for logging in a well is disclosed. The method includes securing a passive logging while levitating (PLWL) assembly to a bottomhole assembly (BHA) to form a logging assembly and running the logging assembly into a wellbore of the well. The method further includes detecting a deviation in the wellbore, detecting a fluid flow direction around the logging assembly in the wellbore, activating the PLWL assembly based, at least in part, on the deviation in the wellbore and the fluid flow direction, and levitating the logging assembly in a center of the wellbore. The method also includes determining whether the logging assembly has reached a target depth and performing logging in the well while the logging assembly is levitating in the center of the wellbore.

Techniques according to the present disclosure include moving an untethered downhole tool through a wellbore between a terranean surface and a particular depth in the wellbore; during the moving the untethered downhole tool through the wellbore, acquiring a set of sensed data from one or more sensors in the untethered downhole tool in a time domain; transforming the plurality of data values associated with the wellbore parameter in the time-domain into a plurality of data values associated with the wellbore parameter in a depth-domain based at least in part on at least one accelerometer output and the locations of a plurality of casing collars; and preparing the plurality of data values associated with the wellbore parameter in the depth-domain for presentation on a graphical user interface (GUI).

Untethered downhole tool systems and methods

A method and a system for well log data quality control is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a well log data regarding a geological region of interest, verifying an integrity and a quality of the well log data, determining the quality of the well log data based on a quality score of the well log data and making a determination regarding the access to the databases based on the quality of data. Additionally, the method includes performing the statistical analysis and the classification of well log data, a predictive and a prescriptive analysis of trends and predictions of the well log data, and generating an action plan for datasets with unsatisfactory quality scores.

Automated well log data quicklook analysis and interpretation

A treatment system comprises a treatment bladder associated with a volume of a tubing-casing annulus of a wellhead system to be treated. The treatment bladder contains a treatment fluid and is at an elevated pressure. The treatment bladder is coupled to the tubing-casing annulus utilizing a fluid conduit through a lower fluid junction. The fluid conduit permits two-way fluid communication between the treatment bladder and the tubing-casing annulus. A method for treating the tubing-casing annulus includes coupling the treatment bladder containing the treatment fluid of the treatment system to the tubing-casing annulus of the wellhead system using the fluid conduit, establishing two-way fluid communication between the tubing-casing annulus and the treatment bladder though the fluid conduit, halting fluid communication though the fluid conduit, and decoupling the treatment bladder from the tubing-casing annulus.

A method for logging in a cased well is disclosed. The method includes receiving well data comprising an orientation of the cased well, selecting a logging while levitating (LWL) assembly type based on the well data, running the LWL assembly into the well to a start depth, and activating the LWL assembly based on a downhole condition so that the LWL assembly levitates in a center of the cased well, wherein the activated LWL assembly moves downhole in the cased well while levitating. The method further includes determining whether the LWL assembly has reached a target depth and performing logging in the cased well while the LWL assembly is levitating in the cased well when the target depth is reached.
