Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing cell search based on battery conditions of a user equipment (UE). For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a UE. The UE includes a transceiver configured to enable wireless communication with a base station and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured to perform a cell search cycle in response to a determination that a connection with the base station has been lost. In response to a determination that UE is in a no-service mode or in a limited-service mode after the cell search cycle, the processor further configures a sleep timer value based at least on one of a charge level of a battery of the UE or a capacity level of the battery. The processor further performs a second cell search cycle after the configured sleep timer value.

Cell search based on user equipment (UE) battery condition

User equipment includes a first antenna, a second antenna, a first transceiver coupled to the first antenna, a second transceiver coupled to the second antenna, and processing circuitry communicatively coupled to the first transceiver and the second transceiver. The first transceiver receives or transmits a first signal via the first antenna, and the second transceiver receives or transmits a second signal via the second antenna. The processing circuitry receives an indication that a signal characteristic of the first signal is less than a first threshold, and decreases power to the first antenna, the first receiver, or both, based on the signal characteristic of the first signal being less than the first threshold.

Dynamic activation of network hardware based on real-time conditions

Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for mitigation of secondary cell failures. A user equipment (UE) may establish communication with a macro cellular base station. The UE may perform a signal quality measurement of a small cell base station and compare the signal quality measurement to a threshold. Based on the signal quality measurement exceeding the threshold, the UE may attempt to additionally connect to the small cell base station. In response to a radio link failure of the second base station, the UE may modify the first threshold. In response to subsequent failures to additionally connect to the small cell base station using the modified first threshold, the UE may disable connections to the small cell base station.
