Embodiments include an electrode material including a plurality of cores fused to a plurality of redox active linkers via Aza units to form a layered two-dimensional (2D) Aza-fused pi-conjugated covalent organic framework (COF). Embodiments also include a negative electrode material including the electrode material, as well as a supercapacitor device and an asymmetric supercapacitor device including the electrode material. Embodiments further include a method of making an electrode material including one or more of the following steps: combining a hexaketocyclohexane compound and an aromatic tetraamine compound in a solution; mixing the solution including the hexaketocyclohexane compound and the aromatic tetraamine compound; and heating the mixed solution to form a 2D Aza-fused pi-conjugated COF.

Conductive two-dimensional (2D) covalent organic frameworks (COFS) and method of making an electrode material

Embodiments include methods of fabricating a zeolite-like metal-organic framework with an ana-topology (ana-ZMOF) thin film membrane, the methods comprising: (1) modifying a substrate with ana-ZMOF crystal precursors in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone; and (2) intergrowing the ana-ZMOF crystal precursors in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone to form a continuous defect-free thin film of an ana-ZMOF intergrown on the substrate. Embodiments further include methods of separating chemical species comprising contacting an ana-ZMOF thin film membrane with a fluid composition containing one or more chemical species and separating at least one of the chemical species.

Metal-organic frameworks for capturing one or more of SO, CO, and HO are disclosed herein. Non-limiting examples of metal-organic frameworks include NbOFFIVE-1-Ni and AIFFIVE-1-Ni, among others. The metal-organic frameworks can be used in applications for removing and/or sensing one or more of SO, CO, and HO from a fluid composition or an environment, either of which can proceed under dry or humid conditions and/or at room temperature.

Metal organic frameworks for gas separation applications

Embodiments provide a method of compound removal from a fluid. The method includes contacting one or more metal organic framework (MOF) compositions with a fluid and sorbing one or more compounds, such as CO, HS and condensable hydrocarbons. One or more of CO, HS and condensable hydrocarbons can be sorbed simultaneously or in series. The metal organic framework can be an M-soc-MOF.
