A sensor arrangement for measuring the pressure and temperature of a fluid includes a housing, a pressure sensor element, and a temperature sensor case. The housing includes a passage and a fluid opening, the passage and the fluid opening being in fluid communication. The pressure sensor element is connected to the housing, the pressure sensor element being in fluid communication with the passage. The temperature sensor case includes at least one temperature sensor element, the temperature sensor case being at least partially arranged in the passage. The sensor arrangement further includes an attachment element, wherein the attachment element attaches the temperature sensor case to the passage. The sensor arrangement further includes a fluid channel extending at least in part between the housing and the temperature sensor case, the fluid channel passing the attachment element and being in fluid communication with the fluid opening and the pressure sensor element.

Sensor arrangement for measuring the pressure and temperature of refrigerant a fluid

A pressure sensor arrangement () for measuring a pressure of a fluid is described, the sensor arrangement () comprising a connector housing () having a fluid opening () and a fluid chamber () in connection with the fluid opening (), at least one pressure sensitive element (), a membrane () arranged between the pressure sensitive element () and the fluid chamber (), and pressure attenuation means (). Such a pressure sensor arrangement should be able to protect the measuring membrane from high frequency pressure pulsations with low costs. To this end the pressure attenuation means () are arranged in the fluid chamber () in direct contact with the membrane () separating the membrane () from the fluid in the fluid chamber and comprise a homogenous incompressible material having a mechanical loss factor of 0.1 or higher at frequencies of 200 Hz or higher.

Pressure sensor arrangement

The invention relates to a dielectric transducer structure comprising a body of elastomeric material that is provided with an electrode arrangement on each of two boundary surfaces lying oppositely to one another. At least one boundary surface comprises a corrugated area that comprises heights and depths. The aim of the invention is to improve the compliance to elastic deformations of the dielectric transducer structure. To this end, the heights and depths are arranged in both perpendicular directions of the boundary surface.

A capacitive transducer () comprises a polymer film () having a first surface and a second surface, a first electrically conductive layer () arranged on the first surface of the polymer film (), and a second electrically conductive layer () arranged on the second surface of the polymer film (). The polymer film () is at least partly made from a material having a molecular weight which is at least 21,000 g/mol. The inventors have surprisingly found that silicone polymer materials with high molecular weights, such as liquid silicone rubbers (LSR) or high temperature vulcanizing (HTV) elastomers, have high electrical breakdown strengths, even though technical data sheets from manufacturers state almost identical electrical breakdown strengths similar to that of RTV-2 elastomers. Using such materials in capacitive transducers allows high electrical fields to be applied to transducers without risking electrical breakdown, thereby increasing performance of transducers.

Capacitive transducer and a method for manufacturing a transducer

The invention provides a transducer for converting between mechanical and electrical energies. The transducer comprises an EAP laminate with a layer of an elastomer material arranged between two electrode layers, each electrode layer comprising a second layer of a plastically deformable material, e.g. metal or a thermoplastic material, and a third layer of an electrically conductive material. Due to the layer of plastically deformable material, the electrode layers can be shaped into various shapes which can provide anisotropic characteristics of the transducer.

A tubular elastomer actuator with a shape in a cross-sectional view which shape exposes at most one single axis of symmetry of a specific length, e.g., an oval shape. The actuator could be made from a sheet made from a plurality of plate shaped elements which are laminated together and rolled. Each plate shaped element may have a corrugation that gives the element an anisotropic structure, and contains an electrode on only one surface. The actuator displacement is the result of shrinkage displacement of the plate shaped elements upon the application of electrical field across their thickness.

A method for providing a multilayer composite includes the steps of providing a first composite comprising a film of a dielectric material with a front surface and an opposite rear surface, the front surface comprising a surface pattern; depositing an electrically conductive layer onto the surface pattern; providing a second composite comprising a film with a front surface and an opposite rear surface, the front surface comprising a surface pattern; depositing an electrically conductive layer covering at least a portion of the surface pattern; arranging the first composite on the second composite; and fixating the position of the first composite relative to the second composite.

A composite for a transducer facilitates an increased actuation force as compared to similar prior art composites for transducers. The composite facilitates increased compliance of the transducer in one direction, an improved reaction time as compared to similar prior art composites for transducers, and provides an increased lifetime of the transducer in which it is applied.

Dielectric composite and a method of manufacturing a dielectric composite

This invention relates to an elastic bandage for supporting a body extremity such as a leg. Such bandages are used to overcome problems with fluid retention and swelling in the legs, occurring as a consequence of varicose veins, vascular incompetence, pregnancy, etc. It is a task of this invention to supply an active support for a body extremity such as a leg, which can be used by a person underneath the clothes and will not reduce the mobility of the patient. This task is solved in that an elastic bandage comprises an elastic layer for surrounding a body extremity to exert compressive force on the extremity, the bandage being, at least partly, formed by elastomeric actuation elements, whereby electrical control of the compressive force is possible, and where the control is due to a signal from some sensing system.

A composite for a transducer facilitates an increased actuation force as compared to similar prior art composites for transducers. In accordance with the present invention, the composite also facilitates increased compliance of the transducer in one direction and an improved reaction time as compared to similar prior art composites for transducers, as well as provides an increased lifetime of the transducer in which it is applied.

A multilayer composite includes at least two composites, each composite having a film and an electronically conductive layer. Several composites are laminated to provide an increased conversion between mechanical and electrical energies not only due to the multiplication of the effect of each layer, but also due to the fact that the multilayer structure itself renders the multilayer composite more rigid. In addition, the multilayer structure facilitates application of an electrical field over thinner portions of the structure, thereby requiring much less potential difference between electrodes.

The present invention relates to dielectric actuators or sensors of the kind wherein electrostatic attraction between two electrodes located on an elastomeric body leads to a compression of the body in a first direction and a corresponding extension of the body in a second direction. The dielectric actuator/sensor structure comprises a first sheet of elastomeric material having at least one smooth surface and a second surface and a second sheet of elastomeric material having at least one smooth surface and a second surface. The sheets are laminated together with their second surfaces exposed, and there is provided a first electrode on the second surface of the first sheet and second electrode on the second surface of the second sheet.

Dielectric actuator or sensor structure and method of making it

A capacitive transducer having a significantly increased actuation force and improved response time as compared to similar prior art capacitive transducers. In the capacitive transducer of the present invention it is not necessary to balance response time and actuation force or to provide pre-strain to the transducer in a direction of actuation. Additionally, buckling in the capacitive transducer is prevented, or at least substantially reduced, in a simple manner.
