An apparatus including a non-transitory memory including instructions stored thereon for monitoring synchronous signals and physical broadcast channels (SSBs) from a network node. The apparatus also includes a processor, operably coupled to the non-transitory memory, configured to execute a set of instructions. The instructions include configuring the apparatus for a STTC (SSB Transmission Timing Configuration). The STTC is a time interval with plural locations accommodating transmission of the SSBs. The instructions also include monitoring the STTC for the SSBs. The instructions further include determining a first one of the SSBs in a first slot of a subframe in a scheduled SSB transmission in the STTC has been transmitted at a first scheduled location, where the transmission of the first one of the SSBs is based upon confirmation of a successful Listen Before Talk (LBT) available channel prior to the scheduled SSB transmission in the STTC.

Mechanism for SSB transmission in NR-U

Described herein are systems and methods for resource block determination for multicast and broadcast transmissions. According to various embodiments, a unicast physical downlink shared channel (U-PDSCH) transmission and a group common physical downlink shared channel (GC-PDSCH) transmission are received; a resource block (RB) configuration for decoding the U-PDSCH transmission and GC-PDSCH transmission is determined, wherein the RB configuration specifies a mapping of at least one of the U-PDSCH and the GC-PDSCH to one or more RB collections; and the GC-PDSCH within a Common Frequency Resource (CFR) in decoded according to the RB configuration. According to various embodiments, the determined RB configuration includes a specification of size and location for the one or more RB collections which at least one of the U-PDSCH and the GC-PDSCH is mapped to. In various embodiments, RB collection size and location may be determined relative to CRB indexes and/or a CFR.

Varied characteristics may include a start time for each repetition, a duration for each repetition, a start frequency for each repetition, a bandwidth of each repetition, a number of repetitions for each subframe, and/or a number of repetitions for each slot. Repetitions may be within a Bandwidth Part (BWP) or span multiple BWPs. Repetitions may vary from one to another in start time, start frequency, duration, bandwidth, and slot and subframe patterns. Higher level signalling, such as Radio Resource Control (RRC) signalling may be used to control the inclusion or omission of a DeModulation Reference Signal (DMRS) in repeated transmissions.

Coverage enhancement for reduced capability new radio devices

Switching between Orthogonal Multiple Access (OMA) and Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) modes of a user equipment (UE) can be determined and indicated by a gNB to a UE at an RRC connected state using one or more of the following schemes: at an RRC (Radio Resource Control) layer with an RRC configuration message, at a MAC (Medium Access Control) layer with MAC CE (MAC control element) signaling, at a PHY (Physical) layer with DCI (Downlink Control Information) signaling, jointly with RRC configuration and DCI signaling, and/or jointly with RRC configuration and MAC CE signaling. The OMA or NOMA mode that the UE operates after the transition may be requested by the UE, indicated by the gNB, and/or may be based on one or more rules for OMA-NOMA switching.

Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) transmissions are described herein in which sequence collision is mitigated or eliminated by exploiting the randomness nature of user specific reference bits and data bits. Sub-band (SB) indications and listen-before-talk (LBT) outcomes may be used to adjust communications between devices such as wireless terminals and base stations. Similarly, a terminal may determine that a physical resource block (PRB) is invalid based at least in part on whether the PRB overlaps with a guard band. A user equipment (UE) determines sidelink resources for use in vehicle wireless communications. Initial beam establishment uses a Sidelink Synchronization Signal (SLSS), a Sidelink Channel State Information Reference Signal (SL-CSI-RS), or a Sidelink Demodulation Reference Signal (SL-DMRS). Beam refinement may then be conducted either by UEs in communication with each other, or by just one of the UEs. A base station such as a gNB may assign resources for a dedicated sidelink carrier or a shared licensed sidelink carrier, e.g., dynamically, as pre-configured by RRC, or based on activation and deactivation. In such cases, initial beam establishment and refinement may include gNB controlled beam forming at a connectionless stage, gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to Tx UE only, or gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to both Tx UE and Rx UE.

The exchange of resource allocation assistance information between a requester User Equipment (UE) and an assistant UE allows the requester to make better resource allocation decisions. The assistance information may include a blacklist, a whitelist, resource allocation information, a candidate resource set, and measurement information, for example. Both UEs may have an assistance configuration to assist in the exchange of resource allocation assistance information, that may be obtained from a third apparatus, such as a base station. The configuration may include information related to when to trigger assistance, identities of UEs, and types of assistance information, for example. The requester may, based on the assistance information received, modify a candidate resource set at a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer. The requester may, at the MAC layer, determine a configured sidelink grant for a selected destination using assistance information targeting this destination.

The UE information message may include quality of service (QoS) information associated with the V2X service. The WTRU may further receive a radio resource control (RRC) configuration message from the gNB. The RRC configuration message may include an indication of a logical channel to be used for communication sidelink data associated with the V2X service, and one or more logical channel configuration parameters for the logical channel to be used for communication of the sidelink data associated with the V2X service. The WTRU may send at least one sidelink transmission comprising the sidelink data associated with the V2X service.
