Systems and methods for crude oil desalting technology are provided. More specifically, systems and methods for the usage of waste heat from compression to treat high salinity water are provided. The systems and methods generate recycled water streams for desalter treatment. The systems and methods can treat high salinity waters from desalters and dehydrators. The high salinity streams are introduced to the compressed gas streams, where the waste heat causes the water portion of the water streams to evaporate, resulting in a fully or near-saturated gas stream and a concentrated waste water stream. The saturated gas streams are cooled and condensed, and low TDS water is separated from the gas stream in knockout drums. The low TDS water can be reintroduced to the desalting system as wash water, generating a circular water reuse.

Recycling of waste energy and desalter effluent water for industrial reuse

A system and a method for removing gas field chemicals from a feed stream are provided. An exemplary method includes performing a forward osmosis on a feed stream including gas field chemicals to form a concentrated feed stream, and treating the concentrated feed stream in an electrochemical process to form treated water.

A gas oil separation plant may include a gas compression plant, configured to receive, compress, and separate one or more feed streams and a warmed refrigerant stream into a compressed gas stream and a condensate stream, a flow system for dividing the condensate stream into an export condensate stream and a refrigerant stream, a gas dewpoint control plant comprising a gas chiller configured for indirectly contacting the compressed gas stream with the refrigerant stream, producing the warmed refrigerant stream, and a flow line for feeding the warmed refrigerant stream to the gas compression plant. A method for gas oil separation may include compressing and separating one or more feed streams and a warmed refrigerant stream into a compressed gas stream and a condensate stream. The condensate stream is divided into an export condensate stream and the refrigerant stream which chills the compressed gas stream and becomes the warmed refrigerant stream.

Integrated gas compression and refrigeration with internal cooling regeneration

A flare gas recovery system includes an ejector that receives flare gas from a suction line extending from a flare gas header, and further receives a motive fluid that draws the flare gas into the ejector to be mixed with the motive fluid and discharge a recovered gas into a discharge gas line. A solid oxide fuel cell system receives the recovered gas and includes a fuel cell power module that uses the recovered gas to generate electrical power, an anode exhaust, and a cathode exhaust, a combustor that receives and combusts at least a portion of the anode and cathode exhausts and thereby generates waste heat, and a process gas heat exchanger that receives and converts the waste heat into electrical power.

A fluid sampling device including an inlet configured to receive a portion of a non-homogeneous fluid flowing through a conduit, a first double block bleed valve coupled to the inlet, a first flexible hose coupled to the first double block bleed valve by a first quick acting and leakage free coupling, a collection drum coupled to the first flexible hose by a first control valve, and a container coupled to the connection drum by a manual valve, wherein the device is configured to collect a fluid sample in the container. Methods and systems for automatic multi-phase mobile sampling collection and analysis

While operating a compressor system equipped with compression train(s), condensate is collected from within stages of the compression train(s), and directed to a blowdown system. Gas from a later stage of the compression train is routed to the blowdown system and used to drive the condensate to a condensate destination at a pressure that avoids flashing of the condensate until it reaches the condensate destination. Inside the blowdown system the condensate is stored in a tank and directed to parallel piped vessels. Operation of the vessels includes (1) receiving the condensate, (2) pressurization with gas from a later stage of compression, (3) flowing the pressurized condensate from the vessel to the condensation destination, (4) depressurizing the vessel, and (5) repeating steps (1)-(4). A flow of condensate from the blowdown system is continuous by staggering the phases of operation between the two vessels.

Example methods and systems for segregation and treatment of waste water streams for enhanced oil recovery are disclosed. One example method includes generating concentrated solution by treating, using a forward osmosis process, waste water of one or more gas streams from a gas plant associated with one or more gas wells, where draw solution of the forward osmosis process includes produced water from one or more crude oil production traps, and the waste water contains kinetic hydrate inhibitor (KHI). The concentrated solution is treated using an oxidation process to generate oxidized solution by decomposing the KHI in the waste water. The oxidized solution is injected into an oil reservoir through a water injection well for enhanced oil recovery.

A battery is disposed on the self-powered pipeline pig to provide electric power during the pigging operation to operate one or more components installed on the self-powered pipeline pig. The power generation device is electrically coupled to the battery to recharge the battery using the generated electric power.

One method includes separating crude oil into a crude oil off-gas and a partially degassed crude oil output; compressing the crude oil off-gas; applying the compressed crude oil off-gas for indirect heating through reboilers of the partially degassed crude oil output; and directly mixing with the crude oil a compressed atmospheric pressure gas. In some embodiments, multiple reboilers are used. In some embodiments, heat exchangers are used. Aftercoolers are used after the compressor to cool the gas; knockout drums are used after the coolers to separate liquids.

Process control systems and methods for simultaneous crude oil dehydration, desalting, sweetening, and stabilization with indirect recycle heating

A flow of a chemical is mixed with a flow of a primary fluid to form a combined fluid, and during mixing a velocity of the combined fluid is maintained at a threshold value so that a resulting mixture of the chemical and primary fluid has a designated homogeneity. The primary fluid is directed to an end of a passage with a venturi like contour that is inside of a mixer, and the chemical is directed to a side passage that extends laterally in the mixer that intersects the passage. A spring loaded valve in the passage maintains the combined flow velocity at the threshold value.

A method may include producing a crude oil from a reservoir and contacting the crude oil with a demulsifying agent before the crude oil passes through a production choke valve to form a mixture of crude oil and demulsifying agent. The mixture of crude oil and demulsifying agent may be separated in one or more separators into a gas stream, an oil stream, and a water stream. The gas stream and oil stream may be combined to form an oil and gas mixture.
