A device, system and method for routing botnet calls to a botnet call-answer queue. A device, such as a call answering point (CAP) and/or a public-safety answering point (PSAP) router device, receives a call and determines an audio signature of the call. The device compares the audio signature of the call with one or more botnet audio signatures stored at a memory. In response to the audio signature of the call matching at least one of the one or more botnet audio signatures, the device: identifies the call as a botnet call that has been placed by a botnet; and cause the call to be routed to a botnet call-answer queue.

A method and apparatus for redacting documents is provided herein. During operation, a call is received from a caller and an identity of the caller is determined. Electronic paperwork related to a particular incident is retrieved. Witness statements from the caller along with past correspondences of the caller are analyzed to determine the caller's knowledge of the incident. Redaction of the electronic paperwork then takes place based on the caller's knowledge of the incident. In particular, items such as addresses, phone numbers, times, places, . . . , etc. that are potentially unknown to the caller are redacted so that the called party will not inadvertently disclose this information to the caller.

The device: controls a local oscillator of an RF downmixing device to a plurality of baseband frequency offsets over a range that includes a given baseband frequency offset; determines, at the plurality of baseband frequency offsets, for a received RF signal, amplitude ratio error and phase error for respective IQ baseband components of the received RF signal; generates, using the amplitude ratio error and the phase error for the respective IQ baseband components, for the given offset, filter coefficients for a given baseband frequency range which compensates for respective amplitude ratio error and respective phase error for the given baseband frequency range; and filters, with the filter coefficients, IQ baseband components of the received RF signal, with the local oscillator operating at the given offset, to generate corrected IQ baseband components.

One example communication device receives a radio frequency (RF) signal. The communication device may include a radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) that includes an internal attenuator. The RFIC and other processing circuitry may convert the received RF signal to a baseband frequency to generate a processed complex baseband signal. A digital signal processor of the communication device may determine, based on detection of or lack of detection of distortion terms in a frequency spectrum of the processed complex baseband signal at frequencies corresponding to integer multiples of a symbol rate of a linear modulation interferer, a modulation type of an interferer signal that forms at least part of the processed complex baseband signal. The digital signal processor may also control whether the internal attenuator is enabled based on a received signal strength indication (RSSI) of a desired RF signal and the modulation type of the interferer signal.

In response to determining that the desired signal is not an analog signal, the method includes determining, using the electronic processor, a switching condition based on the desired signal, and controlling, using the electronic processor, the local oscillator to provide the second intermediate frequency in response to determining the switching condition.

The intermodulation filter is configured to receive a signal, apply a first filter and a second filter to the signal to generate a first and a second filtered signal. The intermodulation filter is configured to isolate a first intermodulation component located on a first side of a frequency spectrum of the signal within the second filtered signal, determine an estimated second intermodulation component based on a potential frequency band location, determine a correction factor based on an amplitude and phase relationship between the first and second intermodulation components, apply the correction factor to the estimated second intermodulation component, determine if the second intermodulation component exceeds a predetermined power threshold, and apply the adjusted estimated second intermodulation component to the first filtered signal, suppressing the second intermodulation component.

A radio frequency (RF) receiver and method of controlling an RF receiver are provided. The method includes receiving an RF signal and down-converting the RF signal to a substantially baseband signal. A direct current (DC) transition is detected in a portion of the substantially baseband signal. The substantially baseband signal is then filtered using a first filter configuration at the portion of the substantially baseband signal including the DC transition and a second filter configuration at a portion of the substantially baseband signal not including the DC transition.

The method comprises estimating energy levels in first and second signals and detecting interference from a first adjacent channel interferer based upon a difference in energy in the first and second signals. The first signal comprising a first on-channel portion and an adjacent channel portion and the second signal comprises an intermediate frequency translation of the first on-channel portion. The energy levels are estimated for corresponding time instances and the adjacent channel interferer is of the adjacent channel portion. The VLIF receiver is then controlled based upon the detected interference.

The process also includes selecting, based at least in part on the calculated weighted sum, a super-resolution technique from among a plurality of super-resolution techniques. The process also includes outputting an indication of the selected super-resolution technique.

A method allocates transmission channels to transmit nodes in a wireless network, the network comprising receive nodes and respective transmit nodes. Each receive node receives a data signal from its respective transmit node and is subject to interference from other transmission from other transmit nodes. The method includes: (i) determining the communication link gain of a data signal transmitted via each of communication paths; (ii) for each of the receive nodes, forming a set of the transmit nodes from which the receive node can tolerate interfering transmissions, (iii) collecting the formed set of transmit nodes from step (ii) for each receive node, and using the formed sets to generate a preferred set of transmit node and receive node pairs; and (iv) allocating a communication channel to the transmit nodes contained in the preferred set.

A plurality of nodes includes at least a first and a second router and at least one client connected to each of the first and second routers. Information is received at the first router from the other nodes, the information relating to the condition of the other nodes. A contention window is calculated for the first router based on the received information and the delay is set for a retransmission of data by the first router to the calculated contention window following an unsuccessful transmission of the data.
