An agricultural vehicle has a steering system providing steering signals and including an imaging device for imaging surroundings of the vehicle and an image processing device, the steering system operates to provide by the imaging device an image of the field, analyze the image to obtain texture information, assign to a plurality of areas of the image probability-values reflecting the likelihood that the respective area relates to a specific structure, assume at least one geometric property of the specific structure, and establish a most possible position parameter of the specific structure taking into account the probability-values and the assumed geometric property; and to provide a steering signal in accordance with the position parameter thus established.

Method of detecting a structure in a field, a method of steering an agricultural vehicle and an agricultural vehicle

The invention relates to a method for improving the propulsion efficiency of vessels. The improvement is obtained by utilizing wave induced variations in propeller inflow, i.e. the speed of water flowing towards the propeller. The wave induced water speed variation is used to calculate the propeller speed in a way so that the propeller speed is optimal with respect to the total propulsion efficiency. The optimal propeller speed is determined by solving an optimization problem formulated as the maximization of the ratio of energy delivered by the propeller and the energy delivered to the propeller. The method may be used for vessels with one or more propellers.

An electrical steering system for a vehicle includes an electrically supplied steering motor arrangement which is connected with an inverter arrangement, whose output voltage is influenced by a computer arrangement, and a sensor arrangement. To reduce the cost of the steering system while also allowing the steering system to be steerable during braking in the case of a fault, the steering motor arrangement has a redundant steering motor which is connected with the computer arrangement via two separately run control circuits. The control circuits have separate electric supplies and the computer arrangement is redundant.

Electrical steering system

Position measurement system of the relative position between two objects. The system comprises a first and a second inductive system. The first inductive system comprises a transmitting coil and a first detector, with the attribute that the pattern of conductors that form the coil extends along a longitudinal axis. A second inductive system comprises a second transmitting coil and a second detector, with the attribute that the coil extends essentially in the longitudinal direction. The second trasmitter coil can be realised as a Meander pattern of conductive material, with return path in its center-line. Using the detectors, it is possible to accurately determine the linear and/or angular position(s) of two bodies relative to each other.
