An injection needle assembly () for an injection device, having a) a needle cannula () attached to a needle hub () and defining a pointed tip at a free end (), and b) a needle cover () forming an axially extending elongated flexible enclosure accommodating the needle cannula (). The needle cover () is configured to axially collapse and become penetrated by the needle cannula () when a penetration force is applied to the needle cover. The needle cover () defines a shaft section () and a bulb section (). The shaft section () encircles the needle cannula () and extends axially from the needle hub () to the bulb section (). The shaft section () comprises a collapsible wall area () having wall thickness tless than a predefined wall thickness tto provide radial deformability for abutting contact with the needle cannula ().

A needle magazine () for storing a plurality of pen needle assemblies in combination with a plurality of pen needle units is disclosed. The magazines each comprise a first part () and a second part (), each holding a number of pen needle assemblies. The first part () and the second part () are hinged together by a hinge mechanism () such that the pen needle magazine () can be folded to be easily carried by a user. The needle magazine () also comprises an irreversible locking mechanism () such that the needle magazine () can be used as a waste bin when discarding the used pen needle assemblies.
