A measuring apparatus includes: a light source device that projects light or light of which intensity is periodically modulated onto a measurement object; a light receiver that receives backscattered light of light projected by the light source device from the measurement object; and a processor comprising hardware, the processor being configured to: measure TOF information of the light projected by the light source device and the backscattered light received by the light receiver; acquire distances from a surface of the measurement object to the light source device and the light receiver; and calculate an internal propagation distance in the measurement object according to the measured TOF information and the acquired distances.

A measurement apparatus includes: a projector configured to project pulse light or light whose intensity is periodically modulated onto a subject; an imaging sensor that includes a plurality of pixels, the imaging sensor being configured to image backscattered light of the light projected by the projector from the subject a plurality of times to output a plurality of image signals; a selection circuit configured to select, for each of the pixels, an image signal closest to a reference light amount from the plurality of image signals; and a characteristic calculation circuit configured to calculate, for each of the pixels, TOF information obtained when the image signal selected by the selection circuit is imaged, acquire light intensity information of the light projected by the projector, and calculate a characteristic of the subject based on the calculated TOF information and the acquired light intensity information.

Arrhythmia is treated with a simple treatment. Provided is an ultrasonic treatment apparatus including a long, thin probe to be inserted into a body, the probe having a contact surface that is brought into contact with tissue in the body and an ultrasonic generating device that radiates ultrasonic waves into the tissue through the contact surface; and a signal detecting portion that is provided at the contact surface of the probe and detects an electrical signal from the tissue. The ultrasonic generating device generates ultrasonic waves focused at a position on the other side of the contact surface from the ultrasonic generating device, the position being away from the contact surface in a direction intersecting the contact surface.

An ultrasonic probe device includes capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers, a band control unit and a bias voltage change unit. Each of the transducers belongs to one of groups, each of the groups includes at least one of the transducers. The band control unit determines the bias voltage value which varies for each of the groups, and a timing to apply the direct-current bias voltage having the bias voltage value so that all frequencies included in an operating frequency are transmitted and/or received by the ultrasonic probe device during an operation period. The bias voltage change unit changes the direct-current bias voltage to be applied to the capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers in accordance with the bias voltage value and the timing.

Provided is a full color image forming method wherein high color reproducibility especially on a blue system and a green system can be obtained and an excellent gradation property can be obtained in a full color image to be obtained. The full color image forming method for forming a full color image by using at least yellow toner, magenta toner, and two kinds of cyan toners (1, 2) is characterized in that a toner image formed by the cyan toner (1) alone has the value of the maximum color saturation (C*) of not less than 50 and the value of lightness (L*) in a color space represented by an L*a*b* colorimetric system of not less than 30 and not more than 52, and that a toner image formed by the cyan toner (2) alone has the value of the maximum color saturation (C*) of not less than 50 and the value of the lightness (L*) in the color space represented by the L*a*b* colorimetric system of not less than 58 and not more than 75.

A stirring device and an analyzing device for stirring a liquid retained in a vessel with sound wave. The Stirring device () comprises: a surface acoustic wave element () having sound generation section () located on a piezoelectric substrate () wherein the sound generation sections are electrically connected in parallel, and center frequencies of respective fundamental waves of the sound generation sections differ from each other, respective resonant frequency bands of the sound generation section are partially overlapped with each other, and origins of acoustic stream caused by sound wave radiated to the vessel from different sound generation section are located alternately; and a drive control section () for controlling a frequency of drive signal input to the surface acoustic wave element so that at least two sound generation sections of the plurality of sound generation sections generate sound wave simultaneously.

A stirring container in which liquid is contained is used in an analyzer for measuring a property of the liquid. The stirring container includes a recessed portion in which the liquid is held so that a meniscus is formed; and a sound wave generating unit disposed outside of a wall portion forming the recessed portion, and generates surface sound waves for stirring the liquid. The wall portion is configured so that a rising of the meniscus is lower than a rising of the meniscus formed by the liquid held in an assumed container whose cross section in a direction orthogonal to a depth direction of the recessed portion is the same as that of a circumscribed rectangle. The circumscribed rectangle is circumscribed about a portion, made of a same material as a part of the wall portion where the meniscus is formed, where the meniscus is formed in the relevant direction.

The agitation apparatus () includes a power transmitter () that transmits power, an electric terminal () that receives the power transmitted from the power transmitter and changes a relative arrangement with respect to the power transmitter when an arrangement of at least one of the power transmitter and the electric terminal () changes, and a sound wave generator () that generates sound waves by converting the power received by the electric terminal () to agitate the liquid.

An agitation vessel () agitates retained liquid by sound waves. A sound wave generating member () which generates sound waves is provided integrally with the agitation vessel (). The agitation vessel () includes a bottom wall () and plural side walls () made of an optically transparent material, and a part of the opposing side walls among the plural side walls () is a photometric window () that optically measures the liquid agitated. The sound wave generating member () is arranged on the side wall (), on which the photometric window () is arranged, among the plural side walls ().

A liquid agitating device includes a sound wave generator that generates a sound wave; and a transmitting portion that transmits the sound wave generated by the sound wave generator, at least a portion of the transmitting portion being in contact with a liquid, and the transmitting portion emitting the sound wave towards the liquid at the portion in contact with the liquid. The sound wave emitted toward the liquid generates a local flow within the liquid and agitates the liquid.
