A water separation unit includes a water separation portion. The water separation portion includes a component separation wall, a liquid chamber, and a gas chamber. The separation wall divides the water separation portion between the liquid chamber and the gas chamber. Liquid fuel is led to the liquid chamber. The separation wall includes a separation membrane, which water selectively permeates to be separated from liquid fuel in the liquid chamber. Water passing through the separation wall is temporarily stored in the gas chamber. A fuel supply apparatus supplies liquid fuel in a fuel tank to an internal-combustion engine. The apparatus includes the water separation unit. The water separation portion is disposed integrally in one of the fuel tank and a passage leading from a filler opening into the fuel tank, such that the liquid chamber is located above the gas chamber in a vertical direction of the water separation portion.

Water separation unit and fuel supply apparatus for internal-combustion engine

A fuel supply apparatus includes a component adjustment unit, a low-pressure side passage, and a valve. The unit adjusts component composition of fuel by separating a particular component from fuel. The unit includes a component separation wall, which divides an interior of a portion of a fuel supply passage between an anterior chamber and a posterior chamber. The wall includes a separation membrane, which the particular component of fuel in the anterior chamber selectively permeates to be separated. The particular component after passing through the wall is temporarily stored in the posterior chamber. When the low-pressure side passage connected to the posterior chamber is opened by the valve, the particular component is separated. Fuel, from which the particular component is separated, is supplied to an injection valve from the anterior chamber. When the low-pressure side passage is closed by the valve, the separation of the particular component is restricted.

Fuel supply apparatus and fuel supply control apparatus for internal-combustion engine

Hall elements detects magnetic signals of a rotational member which is secured to the crank shaft or the cam shaft of an engine and converts them to an alternating electric signal. The electric signal is amplified by a differential amplifier and applied to a peak-detecting-type wave-shaping circuit which generates a rotational position signal and a control signal. A reset signal generator generates an interrupting signal in response to the control signal and is applied to a NAND circuit which is connected between the wave shaping circuit and an output circuit. When a power switch is closed, the power source voltage sometimes drops to an extremely low value for providing the rotational position detecting signal. At this moment, the reset signal generator generates the interrupting signal and closes the NAND circuit so that erroneous signal of the rotational position detecting signal is prevented.

Rotational position detecting device having peak and bottom hold circuits

A rotational position detecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine comprises a first and a second signal generator each thereof having a signal rotor rotating in synchronism with the rotation of the engine, a first and a second waveform reshaping circuit and a signal processing circuit. Engine rotational angle signals produced by the first signal generator and engine cylinder reference angular position signals and a specified cylinder angular position signal produced by the second signal generator are reshaped through the first and second waveform reshaping circuits, respectively, and both output signals from the first and second waveform reshaping circuits are supplied to the signal processing circuit. The signal processing circuit separates the reference signals and the cylinder discrimination signal from the output signals of the second waveform reshaping circuit and outputs the separated signals along with the angle signals produced by the first waveform reshaping circuit. This rotational position detecting apparatus for internal combustion engines is featured in that it is simple in construction and small in size and its operation is hardly susceptible to interference caused by radio noise.

A rotation detecting apparatus includes a first electromagnetic pickup of the electromagnetic coil type positioned to face a single signal rotor in the diametrical direction thereof and generate a first rotation signal, a permanent magnet received in a recess formed in the principal plane surface of the signal rotor, and a second electromagnetic pickup including a magnetoresistance effect element positined separately above the upper surface of the permanent magnet and operatively associated with the magnet to generate a second rotation signal.
