Electric discharge lamp

A method for making a fluorescent lamp from a pair of molded, flat glass shells. Substantially semi-circular recesses are formed on each shell on bonding surfaces thereof opposite semi-circular recess formed on the other glass shell, so that when the shells are bonded together, a circular orifice is formed on the lamp. An exhaust tube is provided, and a stem is affixed to an end of the exhaust tube, and an electrode filament and a getter plate are secured to the stem. The shells are bonded together with a glass adhesive and simultaneously therewith, the exhaust tube is sealed into the orifice so that the getter plate and the electrode filament thereof are disposed within the space between the bonded shells. The gases within the space between the shells are exhausted and mercury and an inert gas are injected into this space. The exhaust tubes then are sealed.

Method for making a fluorescent lamp

A flat type fluorescent lamp comprises a pair of rectangular dish-shaped halves connected together to form a rectangular hollow body, and discharge electrodes disposed at both ends of the rectangular body. Voltage supply terminals for the electrodes and an exhaust pipe for exhausting or substituting another gas for the air in the fluorescent lamp are situated at one end only of the rectangular body.

Flat fluorescent lamp

A fluorescent lamp constituted by joining a pair of shells of glass that at least one of the shells is molded. A recess is formed on a portion of the jointing surface of the shells so as to become circular when the shells are overlapped each other. An exhaust tube and lead-in wires of electrode stem are hermetically fixed in the recess by adhering or by welding. An anode getter plate is arranged independently from an electric circuit including an electrode filament.

Fluorescent lamp

An indicating device with a flat fluorescent lamp which comprises a fluorescent lamp having flat side surfaces and one or more indications formed on the side surfaces of the fluorescent lamp. The indicating device can be further provided with an ornamental frame which is attached to the outer periphery of the fluorescent lamp and a mounting base which is attached to one side of the ornamental frame and holds therein a discharge circuit including a stabilizer and a glow lamp for the fluorescent lamp.

Indicating device with flat fluorescent lamp

A flat type fluorescent lamp comprises a molded plate glass in the form of an upside down dished plate and a flat plate sealed to the dished plate along the peripheral portions thereof. A pair of electrodes are mounted on the flat plate glass, spaced from the flat plate glass, through stems or connector pins and are sealed in the fluorescent lamp body. The fluorescent lamp requires no base so that the overall length thereof may be reduced.

Flat type fluorescent lamp

A flat type of fluorescent lamp having a pair of shells. One of the shells has a surface which extends outwardly from the joint portion of the shells, at both ends thereof. A pair of lead-in wires for supporting a discharge electrode are disposed on the outwardly extending surface of the shell and are connected to electrode terminals which correspond to the pair of lead-in wires.

Flat type of fluorescent lamp

A solder removing bit for use in melting solder by heat of the bit and for removing the solder by suction includes an elongated bit body having an inclined front surface. A suction bore extends the length of the body from a suction pipe opening at the rear end thereof and is exposed at the center of the inclined surface by a right-angled notch. A portion of the bore is left on one surface of the notch to form a slight groove which prevents blockage of the bore during use. A cross notch is provided across said surface of the right-angled notch to intersect the groove.

Soler removing bit

A solder removing bit for use in melting solder by heat of the bit and for removing the solder by suction includes an elongated suction pipe having a suction bore extending therethrough with the pipe having an open end serving as an inlet to the bore. A tubular metallic bit surrounds the open end portion of the pipe and a tubular electric heater surrounds the bit. The end of the heater is spaced from the end of the bit to define a work contacting end portion on the bit. The end portion of the bit is provided with a coating of fused silica or porcelain enamel to render the end portion of the bit electrically insulative.
