An adhesive resin composition is obtained by mixing at least one member (C) selected from the group consisting of unsaturated carboxylic acids and the derivatives thereof, a free-radical initiator (D), and a mixture consisting of a crystalline polyolefin resin (A) and an amorphous or low crystalline olefin copolymer of ethylene and an .alpha.-olefin (B), to obtain a precursor mixture, melt-kneading the precursor mixture in the first half of an extruder having at least one side feeder, to obtain a modified precursor mixture, and feeding a crystalline polyolefin resin (E) from the side feeder of the extruder and mixing the resin (E) with the modified precursor mixture. The adhesive resin composition has good extrudability and exhibits high adhesive property to polar materials such as polar polymeric materials and the like.

An adhesive resin composition is disclosed, comprising: (A) from 2 to 98% by weight of an ethylene copolymer comprising from 50 to 90% by weight of ethylene, from 0 to 49% by weight of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester, and from 0.5 to 10% by weight of maleic anhydride, with the sum of these monomers being 100% by weight; (B) from 2 to 98% by weight of a crystalline polyethylene resin comprising either an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an .alpha.-olefin having 3 or more carbon atoms, with an ethylene content being 90% by weight or more; and (C) from 2 to 50% by weight of a non-crystalline or low crystalline olefin copolymer rubber comprising a copolymer of ethylene and an .alpha.-olefin having 3 or more carbon atoms, with the sum of the components (A), (B) and (C) being 100% by weight.

A conductive plastic molding obtained by melt molding an ethylene copolymer comprising from 40 to 90% by weight of an ethylene unit, from 10 to 60% by weight of at least one dialkylaminoalkylacrylamide comonomer unit represented by formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and n represents an integer of from 2 to 5, and up to 20% by weight of one or more ethylenically unsaturated comonomer units and having a number average molecular weight of from 5,000 to 50,000 and impregnating at least 10 parts by weight of an aqueous solution of at least one of an organic acid, an inorganic acid, and an inorganic metal salt into 100 parts by weight of the resulting melt molded. A vibration-damping material consisting of two metal plates and a vibration-damping layer of thermoplastic resin interposed between the two metal plates, in which said thermoplastic resin has a percentage of wlongation at 20.degree. C. of 30% or more, preferably 50% or more, a peak temperature of dissipation factor (tan .delta.) in the range of -50.degree. C. to 130.degree. C., and a bonding strength toward the metal plates of 3 kg/cm or more as determined by 180.degree.-peeling test at 20.degree. C.

A lead accumulator using dilute sulfuric acid as an electrolyte liquor is disclosed, in which the electrolyte liquor is fixed by absorption or impregnation into an ethylene copolymer resin or a molding thereof comprising from 40 to 90% by weight of an ethylene unit and from 10 to 60% by weight of at least one comonomer unit selected from (A) and ethylenically unsaturated comonomer unit having an amido group and an amino group in the molecule thereof and (B) an ethylenically unsaturated comonomer unit having an ester group and an amino group in the molecule thereof and having an average molecular weight of from 5,000 to 50,000. An adhesive resin composition is described, comprising: (A) a thermoplastic copolyester resin prepared from (1) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising from 40 to 100 mol % of terephthalic acid and from 0 to 60 mol % of other aromatic dicarboxylic acid and (2) a low molecular weight glycol component comprising from 40 to 100 mol % of 1,4-butanediol and from 0 to 60 mol % of diethylene glycol or 1,6-hexanediol and further from 0 to 10 mol %, based on the total carboxylic acid, of polytetramethylene glycol having a molecular weight of from 600 to 6,000, which has a melting point of from 90.degree. to 160.degree. C. and a reduced viscosity of at least 0.5; and (B) an ethylene copolymer having at least one functional group selected from an epoxy group, a carboxylic acid group, and a dicarboxylic anhydride group; and if desired, (C) a thermoplastic resin other than the resin (A), and if further desired, (D) a polyfunctional epoxy compound. This composition exhibits excellent adhesion to synthetic resins such as polyvinyl chloride, polyesters, and polyolefins and also to metals such as aluminum and has excellent adhesive durability against moisture.

An adhesive resin composition is described, comprising: (A) a thermoplastic copolyester resin prepared from (1) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising from 40 to 100 mol % of terephthalic acid and from 0 to 60 mol % of other aromatic dicarboxylic acid and (2) a low molecular weight glycol component comprising from 40 to 100 mol % of 1,4-butanediol and from 0 to 60 mol % of diethylene glycol or 1,6-hexanediol and further from 0 to 10 mol %, based on the total carboxylic acid, of polytetramethylene glycol having a molecular weight of from 600 to 6,000, which has a melting point of from 90.degree. to 160.degree. C. and a reduced viscosity of at least 0.5; and (B) an ethylene copolymer having at least one functional group selected from an epoxy group, a carboxylic acid group, and a dicarboxylic anhydride gruop; and if desired, (C) a thermoplastic resin other than the resin (A), and if further desired, (D) a polyfunctional epoxy compound. This composition exhibits excellent adhesion to synthetic resins such as polyvinyl chloride, polyesters, and polyolefins and also to metals such as aluminum and has excellent adhesive durability against moisture.

A method for preparation of ionically crosslinked ethylene copolymers having excellent physical properties, which comprises melt blending a copolymer of (a) ethylene and (b) an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester selected from the group consisting of isopropyl acrylate, isopropyl methacrylate, tert-butyl acrylate and tert-butyl methacrylate with (c) a metal compound selected from the group consisting of the acetates, formates and oxides of the metals having 1 to 3 valences in Groups I, II, III, IV-A and VIII of the Periodic Table, and keeping the resulting molten blend at a temperature of 200.degree. to 320.degree. C to give in one step an ionically crosslinked ethylene copolymer which comprises the monomer unit components of the formulae: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sub.2 is an isopropyl group or a tert-butyl group, M is a metal atom having 1 to 3 valences in Groups I, II, III, IV-A and VIII of the Periodic Table and n is an integer corresponding to the valence of the metal represented by M in a molar proportion of w : x : y : z which satisfy the relationships of the equations: ##EQU1## WHEREIN EITHER ONE OF X AND Z CAN BE ZERO.
