A pulse wave measuring device checks whether amplitude of a pulse signal satisfies a gain changing condition and, when the gain changing condition is satisfied, changes a gain. The pulse wave measuring device includes an amplitude storing unit and a mode progressing unit. The amplitude storing unit stores plural gain changing conditions, to which a series of order are assigned, respectively. A mode progressing unitchanges the gain changing condition to the next-ordered gain changing condition upon determination that the mode progress condition is satisfied. The gain changing condition is satisfied in case that Yor more number of pieces of Xamplitudes are larger than an upper limit value Uor smaller than a lower limit value L. Xis increased as the order of the set gain changing condition is higher.

Pulse wave measuring device

A first purge passage is connected to an intake-air passage at a downstream side of a throttle valve. A second purge passage is connected to the intake-air passage at an upstream side of a supercharging device. A first and a second check valve are respectively provided in the first and second purge passages. A control unit determines to which operating condition (from a first to a third operating condition) engine operation corresponds, based on downstream-side and upstream-side pressure of the throttle valve. A change of in-tank pressure of a fuel tank is detected in a condition that an air-communication valve is closed but a purge control valve is opened. The control unit diagnoses which of the valves is not normally operated and whether such valve is fixed to a valve opened or a valve closed position, based on the change of in-tank pressure for each of engine operating conditions.

Vaporized-fuel processing system

An operation of a change valve is changeable between a valve closing state, in which the change valve is closed to close connection between a pump passage and a canister passage and to open connection between an atmosphere passage and the canister passage, and a valve opening state, in which the change valve is opened to open the connection between the pump passage and the canister passage and to close the connection between the atmosphere passage and the canister passage. An ECU determines that the change valve is abnormal when a value, which is obtained by subtracting a second reference pressure measured in an (n&#x2212;1)th execution of a fuel vapor leakage sensing process from a first reference pressure measured in an nth execution of the fuel vapor leakage sensing process, is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold value.

Fuel vapor leakage sensing apparatus and fuel vapor leakage sensing method using the same

A fuel vapor leak detecting device includes a pump, a housing having a pump passage connected to the pump, a switching valve, a pressure detector, and a control device detecting a shutoff pressure that corresponds to an interior pressure of the pump passage detected by the pressure detector when the pump is actuated while the switching valve is closed. The control device controls the switching valve to be opened at least once and to be closed at least once when the shutoff pressure is out of a specified range. The control device detects a fuel vapor leak when the shutoff pressure is in the specified range.

Fuel vapor leak detecting device and fuel vapor leak detecting method using the same

A first determiner determines whether a pressure in a fuel tank is within a predetermined range when an ignition switch of an engine is on. A second determiner determines whether a valve allows or prohibits a communication between the fuel tank and a switch valve, when the first determiner determines that the pressure in the fuel tank is within the predetermined range. A control unit controls a pressure controlling portion based on a determination result of the first determiner and a determination result of the second determiner. A leak determiner determines whether the fuel tank has a leak of evaporated fuel based on a signal output from a first detector detecting a pressure in a detection passage and a signal output from a second detector detecting a pressure in the fuel tank.

Evaporated fuel leak detecting apparatus

An ECU determines whether condensed water is present at a rotor and vanes based on an electric current, which flows in an electric motor that drives the rotor. When the condensed water is determined to be present, the ECU drives the motor for a predetermined time period. When the condensed water is determined to be absent, the ECU stores a pressure, which is sensed through a pressure sensor, as a first pressure. The ECU is adapted to sense an abnormality in a pump characteristic based on a value of the first pressure.

Vane pump apparatus and leak check system having the same

A vane pump includes a housing defining a pump chamber; a rotor rotatably arranged in the pump chamber; and a motor to rotate the rotor. An imaginary plane is defined to bisect the pump chamber in an axis direction. The housing has a first inlet port and a second inlet port located symmetrical with each other with respect to the imaginary plane, and the housing has a first outlet port and a second outlet port located symmetrical with each other with respect to the imaginary plane.

An upper casing receives a rotor, which is rotated by a drive force of a motor. The upper casing includes a pump chamber, which receives the rotor, a planar surface portion, which is formed around an opening of the pump chamber, and a through hole. Vane pump and evaporative leak check system having the same

A vane pump includes a motor, a rotor rotated by the motor, a first casing having a pump chamber accommodating the rotor and a first flat part in a periphery of an opening of the pump chamber, a second casing having a second flat part joined to the first flat part to gas-tightly or liquid-tightly close the opening of the pump chamber, an elastic sheet disposed between the second casing and the motor, and a screw penetrating the first casing, the second casing and the elastic sheet. The screw is configured to fasten and join the first casing, the second casing and the elastic sheet to the motor.

A fuel vapor treatment system is mounted on a hybrid vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. Even when an internal combustion engine is stopped, a discharge of fuel vapor from a first canister to atmosphere can be detected. When the discharge of the fuel vapor from the first canister is detected, the internal combustion engine is started to perform a purge process. When it is detected that the purge process in the first canister is finished, the internal combustion engine is stopped to terminate the purge process.

Fuel vapor treatment system

A leakage detecting device is connected to an evaporating fuel processing apparatus to detect leakage of evaporating fuel in a ventilation apparatus that includes an electric pump, a fuel tank, and a filter. The electric pump includes a pump portion and a motor portion. The pump portion is capable of generating at least one of pressurizing force and de-pressurizing force. The motor portion drives the pump portion. The filter absorbs fuel evaporating in the fuel tank. The leakage detecting device generates pressure difference between the inside of the ventilation apparatus and the outside of the ventilation apparatus in accordance with the pressurizing force and the de-pressurizing force generated using the electric pump to detect a leakage condition of the ventilation apparatus. The leakage detecting device includes a rotation speed controlling means that controls rotation speed of the motor portion at a predetermined rotation speed.

Leakage detecting device for evaporating fuel processing apparatus

A rotor includes a plurality of vanes and is connected to a rotatable shaft of a motor arrangement. A casing includes a pump chamber and elongated holes. The pump chamber receives the rotor in such a manner that the rotor is eccentric to the pump chamber. Each elongated hole penetrates through the casing and has an elongated cross section. A major axis of the elongated cross section of each elongated hole extends in a direction of eccentricity of the rotor relative to the pump chamber. Each bolt is received through a corresponding elongated hole of the casing and is threadably engaged with a mount to connect the casing to the mount. The casing holds each bolt in a minor axial direction of the elongated cross section of the corresponding elongated hole to limit substantial movement of the male threaded screw member in the minor axial direction of the elongated hole.

Vane pump, method for adjusting pump flow rate of vane pump and fuel vapor leakage check module having vane pump

A fuel vapor leakage check module has a canister port which is provided so that the port can be opened to the air and is connected to the interior of a fuel tank through a canister for absorbing fuel vapor produced in the fuel tank. A pump depressurizes or pressurizes the interior of the fuel tank through the canister port. A connecting passage which is coaxially provided in the canister port, is connected to the canister port. The connecting passage is depressurized or pressurized by the pump. A standard orifice is coaxially provided in the connecting passage and reduces the passage area of the connecting passage.

Fuel vapor leak check module

A fuel vapor leak check module has a pump discharging an air through an outlet. When the fuel vapor check module is mounted on a vehicle, an outlet of the pump is opened downwardly in the gravity direction. A housing has an opening provided above the outlet. The foreign particles discharged from the outlet of the pump are deposited on the inner surface of the housing. The foreign particles hardly reach to the opening even if the discharged air pushes up the foreign particles. Thus, the foreign particles are separated from the discharged air by the gravity to avoid the scatter thereof.
