There is provided an electronic control unit including: input terminals connected to output terminals of a magneto generator driven by an engine; DC output terminals; a control power supply circuit that converts an AC voltage input between the input terminals into a DC voltage equal to a set value; and a microprocessor that controls electrical components of the engine, wherein the electronic control unit further includes an interruption signal generation circuit that compares an output voltage of the control power supply circuit with a certain abnormality determination voltage and generates an interruption signal when the output voltage of the control power supply circuit becomes the abnormality determination voltage or less, and an abnormality state storage unit for storing that an abnormality occurs in a power supply portion when the interruption signal is generated.

A diagnosis device of a capacitor discharge ignition device for an engine that detects, as a singularity, a leading edge or a trailing edge of a voltage between output terminals of an ignition power supply portion that generates a voltage for charging an ignition capacitor, counts the number of singularities detected while a crankshaft rotates through a measurement section, which is a section of a certain crank angle determined with reference to a pulse signal obtained by a signal generator that generates a pulse signal at a specific crank angle position of an engine, and diagnoses an abnormality of the ignition device and a cause of the abnormality by comparing the count value of singularity with the number of times of normal ignition of the engine performed while the crankshaft rotates through the measurement section.

A power supply device comprises: a voltage converting portion that converts a voltage generated from a power supply portion into an output voltage to be supplied to a load; a voltage divider circuit that generates an output voltage setting signal for providing a set value of the output voltage; a set value changeover portion that turns on/off set value changeover switches to change a voltage divider ratio of the voltage divider circuit to change the set value; a storage device that stores a state appropriate for each set value changeover switch for keeping the value of the output voltage within a specified range; a set value changeover switch control portion that controls the set value changeover switches so as to bring each set value changeover switch into a state as stored in the storage device when the voltage is supplied from the voltage converting portion to the load; and an output voltage control portion that controls the voltage converting portion so as to make zero a deviation between the value of the output voltage and the set value.

An engine control device that controls an engine having a brushless motor as a starter motor, wherein the control device comprises a pickup coil that outputs a pulse signal at a crank angle position set in a crank angle section where a load applied to the brushless motor in cranking the engine is light, said brushless motor including a stator, a rotor and a position detecting device that detects rotational angle positions of the rotor to output position detection signals which represent level changes at fixed crank angle positions of the engine, and the control device being constructed so as to identify a crank angle position corresponding to each position where the level of the position detection signal is changed, based on the output signal of the pickup coil and to obtain crank angle information from the level changes of the position detection signals to control ignition timing or the like.

An engine control device that controls, using a microprocessor, a fuel injection device including an injector and a fuel pump, and a starter motor that starts an engine, including: first fuel pump driving means for driving the fuel pump only during set time at power-on of the microprocessor; and first fuel injection control means for causing the injector to perform first fuel injection before driving of the starter motor when it is confirmed that the driving of the fuel pump by the first fuel pump driving means is completed and that a start command for commanding the start of the engine is given.

A control system for an electric motor for driving an electric vehicle comprising lock state judgment means to judge that the electric motor is in a lock state when a state where a rotational speed of a brushless DC motor has a value equal to or less than a set lock start rotational speed while an opening degree of an accelerator is equal to or more than a predetermined judgment opening degree continues during predetermined judgment time and lock time drive current control means to perform such a control as to gradually reduce a drive current of the motor to a lock-time limit value. Thus, when the rotational speed of the vehicle is lowered until the motor gets the lock state while the vehicle is driven in the state where the accelerator is opened with the opening degree being equal to or more than the judgment opening degree, the drive current is decreased whereby a temperature of armature coils is prevented from abnormally rising.

A method of controlling an electric power supply apparatus with an electric converter circuit adapted to detect a phase difference between a waveform of a voltage across load connection terminals and a waveform of a reference voltage from time difference between zero cross points thereof and shift the phase of the reference voltage so that the phase difference is within a set range when it is decided that the phase difference is out of the set range whereby the phase of the output voltage across the load connection terminals is so controlled that it is coincident with that of an external voltage applied across the load connection terminals.
