Disclosed is an antilock braking device including a first braking hydraulic adjusting member actuated so as to restrain braking oil pressure of wheel cylinders individually corresponding to left and right front wheels in response to antilock braking oil pressure for front wheels; a second braking hydraulic adjusting member actuated so as to restrain braking oil pressure of wheel cylinders individually corresponding to left and right rear wheels in response to antilock braking oil pressure for rear wheels; an antilock control system having a reservoir and a pump for pressurizing control oil from said reservoir to generate said antilock control oil pressure; and a tandem type master cylinder having a pair of output ports independent of each other connected to said both braking hydraulic adjusting members to generate braking oil pressure of each of said wheel cylinders, characterized in that a proportional reducing valve is interposed between both braking hydraulic adjusting members in order to supply braking oil pressure from the first or second braking hydraulic adjusting member corresponding to the front wheel or rear wheel subject to the larger supporting load to the second or first braking hydraulic adjusting member corresponding to the rear wheel or front wheel subject to the smaller supporting load.

Antilock braking device

An automated braking-gap adjuster system for mechanical drum brakes includes back plate, a pair of brake shoes having one end pivotally supported on the back plate, a cam member interposed between the other free ends of the brake shoes and adapted to be rotated by a brake arm and a wedge adjuster having its tapered cam surface slidingly abutting directly or indirectly upon the brake shoes. The wedge adjuster is disposed in the cam member such that it is rotatable with the cam member and slidable in the direction extending at right angles with the expanding direction of the brake shoes. The adjuster system also includes an adjusting rod abutting upon the wedge adjuster and threadedly connected to the cam member and an adjusting gear engaged with the adjusting rod and rotated to extend threadedly the adjusting rod, so that the wedge adjuster is urged to thereby expand the brake shoes.

Automated braking-gap adjuster system for mechanical drum brake

Arranged in parallel with a main control valve, which is principally of the conventional structure including a spherical weighted valve element operable under inertial force, is an auxiliary control valve, that includes a differential piston type valve element normally held in valve-opening position under a spring bias and is operable in response to the oil pressure in the rear wheel brakes rising above a predetermined level to close or to reduce the oil pressure being transmitted therefrom to the rear wheel brakes. With continued rise of the output oil pressure of the brake master cylinder, the valve element is moved away from and close to the valve seat in a repeated fashion. With the dual arrangement of main and auxiliary control valves, there is no impairment of the brake performance such as encountered previously with the conventional valve device, in spite of any premature closing of the main control valve as may occur in brake application during vehicle travel down a steep slope or in sudden brake application.

Brake oil pressure controlling valve device for vehicle use

A device for a brake system including two independent hydraulic lines extending from a dual type brake master cylinder and connected to the respective rear wheel brakes. The device is compactly formed with its essential parts housed in a single casing and can be readily mounted across the two hydraulic lines midway thereof to serve two functions, one of warning the driver of any fluid leakage possibly occurring in one or the other of the two hydraulic lines and the other of adjusting the ratio of the front to the rear wheel brake pressure for maximized overall braking efficiency. A pair of differential pistons are slidably fitted in aligned cylinder bores to define in each an input and an output hydraulic chamber communicating with each other through a normally open control valve, which is closed upon movement of the associated piston under differential pressure. Also, a balance piston is arranged between the differential pistons and movable with either of them to actuate a switch unit inserted in an electrical alarm circuit.
