A linear drive device provided with a magnetic sensor which is movable together with a movable piece for reading magnetic information of a position sensing magnetized portion on a stator, and a magnetic shield member for shielding the magnetic sensor from a magnetic flux applied by a drive magnetized portion on the stator. A linear drive device provided with a first sensor for sensing a variation in magnetic polarity of a field magnet on a stator, and a second sensor for reading information on an encoder scale, the first and second sensors being arranged at positions in a region around the stator except for a region above the upper surface of the stator.

A linear motor including a stator having a drive field magnet extending in a uniform direction, a movable piece including an armature coil opposed to the field magnet, and a carrying member carrying a predetermined portion of the stator, wherein the stator is provided with predetermined magnetic poles for driving the movable piece only at a range in which a change in the magnetic field by the influence of the carrying member is prevented or suppressed.

Linear motor

An image reading apparatus includes one or more sliders which carry optical parts and can linearly reciprocate in a predetermined direction. The apparatus optically scans and thereby reads an image on an original document located at a predetermined position. The image reading apparatus includes a magnetic encoder for detecting positions of the sliders.

A linear motor includes a rod-like stator having a field magnet, and a movable piece having an armature coil fitted around the field magnet and arranged inside a cylindrical movable piece yoke. The movable piece is provided at its opposite ends with bearings. The armature coil is arranged between the bearings. The cylindrical movable piece yoke is provided at ends of a lower portion in the gravity direction with projections extending in the movable piece moving direction.

The invention is directed to a linear motor and a image reading apparatus. The motor comprises a rod-like stator formed of a magnetizable rod-like member provided by magnetization with a drive field magnet and a plurality of magnet portions providing multiple kinds of position information; a movable piece being movable along said stator and having an armature coil opposed to said field magnet; and a sensor reading the position information from the plurality of magnet portions. The apparatus includes motors such as the foregoing linear motors as drive source for sliders to be driven for scanning a document image.

A single sided servo apparatus comprises a linear motor and a longitudinal carriage which is connected to the linear motor at one end thereof. The linear motor comprises a stator including field magnets arranged linearly and a movable piece including armature coils. The field magnets have a trapezoid-like magnetic flux distribution. An arrangement pattern of the field magnets has a relative tilted angle to an arrangement pattern of the armature coils, so that a free end of the carriage precedes the other end thereof connected to the linear motor. Then, the thrust has a small variation and generates a stable thrust of the servo apparatus.

A image recording apparatus for recording images on a film by a laser beam. An optical head for use in an optical disk system for irradiating a laser beam on an optical disk for recording or reproducing information. The optical head comprises a first and a second diffraction gratings for forming a moire pattern for detecting a focusing error, and a third diffraction grating for detecting a tracking error. The third diffraction grating has strips extending in a direction perpendicular to directions in which the strips of the first and second diffraction gratings extend.

An automatic focusing apparatus having an objective lens for forming a beam from a semiconductor laser as a spot image on an image subjecting face, a driving unit for driving the objective lens in a direction parallel to an optical axis thereof, a beam splitter disposed between the semiconductor laser and the objective lens, a pair of grids for generating a moire image displaced in a travelling path of a beam returning from the image subjecting face and reflected by an inclined prism face of the beam splitter, a photo detector for detecting the moire image generated by the grids and an control unit for evaluating a focusing error based on a variation in the moire image pattern and for controlling the driving unit so as to correct the focusing error. The first grid and the second grid are interspaced in parallel to each other along a beam axis and angularly displaced from each other about the beam axis.

Image recording apparatus wherein a film is exposed to a laser beam so that an image is recorded on the film, the apparatus having a cartridge for winding the image-recorded film. The cartridge comprises a reel, a first and a second casing for housing the reel in such a manner as the reel can be dismounted, the casings capable of being integrated and disintegrated by moving in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the reel, a first guide unit disposed in the first casing for forcing the film wound around the reel toward the center of the reel elastically and a second guide unit disposed in the second casing for forcing the film wound around the reel toward the center of the reel.

Apparatus for recording images on a roll of film and a film winding

A film conveying apparatus includes a portion for feeding a film, a portion for drawing the film and a slack detecting apparatus for detecting slack of the film therebetween. The slack detecting apparatus includes a light emitting portion and the light receiving portion, and when the light from the light emitting portion to the light receiving portion is intercepted by the film, it is determined that the film has slack. When the slack of the film is detected by the slack detecting apparatus, emission of light from the light emitting portion is stopped for a prescribed time period.
