There is provided a disc drive by which the fluid loss of a disc is reduced and the electric power consumption of a spindle motor can be decreased. In the disc drive according to the present invention, a rotation load reducing member is provided between a top cover and the disc. The rotation load reducing member is movably supported by a clearance adjustment member. While the disc is rotating, the rotation load reducing member is moved in the direction approaching the disc. Thereby, the thickness of an air layer on the upper surface of the disc is decreased.

An optical disc apparatus for enabling reduction of fluid noises accompanying with disc rotation, effectively, comprises a trayprovided to be able to comes in/out into/from said housing freely, a unit mechanismprovided together with the tray, in one body, a turntableprovided on the unit mechanism and configured to support a disc thereon, to be rotatable freely, a plural number of wall portionstoformed on the tray surrounding the disc supported on the turntable from an outer periphery thereof, each of which has configuration like an arc around a rotation center of the turntable, a pickupfor doing straight-line motion within along a radius direction of a disc, and an opening, which is provided on the wall portionlocating at the position on the moving track of the pickup, for maintaining movement of the pickup, wherein the wall portionis moved or stepped back to a side of an outer periphery of the turntable comparing to other wall portions.

Optical disc apparatus

An optical disc drive is fitted with a pickup, a non-contacting cooling plate, and a resinous movable spacer. The cooling plate adjacently faces and is fixed to the under, right, or left side of the pickup. The movable spacer is fitted to one of the facing sides of the pickup and cooling plate and prevents direct contact between the pickup and the plate. This drive structure prevents pickup movement interference due to collision between the pickup and the cooling plate, contamination production, needless electric conduction, etc., so that the clearance between the facing sides of the metallic pickup and metallic non-contacting cooling plate is narrow. The narrow clearance results in an improved heat conduction and radiation characteristic, improving the cooling of the whole pickup.

An optical disc drive may include a tray movable for the sake of mounting and dismounting a disc, a disc rotation mechanism arranged at the center to rotate the disc, and a pickup arranged on a backside of the center to write and read the disc within a housing. The optical disc drive may be arranged with a first opening for inhaling outside air in a height range between the bottom surface of the tray and the proximity to the bottom end of the pickup on a back surface or a side surface around a corner on a right side viewed from the backside of the housing, and a second opening for exhausting internal air, arranged higher than a top surface of the tray on the back surface or a side surface around a corner on a left side viewed from the backside.

The heat dissipation of a pickup is improved in an optical disc apparatus of a slot-in type. A unit coveron a disc-facing side of a unit mechanismincludes a circumferential plate, a lever supporting plate, a disc guiding plate, a flexible printed circuit board holding plate, a reinforcing plate, a driving part covering plate, ventilating openings near sub guiding shaft, an extended notch near sub guiding shaft, an outer extended notch, and an extended notch near main guiding shaft. With this configuration, plenty of air flow induced by the rotation of a disccan be introduced to a pickupalso through the unit cover, greatly improving heat dissipation capability.

Disclosed is an air conditioner and, in particular, an air conditioner which is capable of blowing out warm air in heating mode. In the air conditioner of this invention, the condenser is thermally separated into an air-upstream-side and an air-downstream-side heat exchanger, and the heat exchange capacity of the air-downstream-side heat exchanger is adjusted, so that, under preset operating conditions, the entire refrigerant in the air-downstream-side heat exchanger can be kept in the superheated-gas phase, thus making it possible to blow out warm air having a temperature higher than the condensation temperature. Further, the refrigerant temperature at the outlet of the air-downstream-side heat exchanger is measured by a temperature sensor, and the revolving speed of the compressor, the revolving speed of the fan, etc., is so controlled that the temperature measured is kept at a level higher than the condensation temperature. Thus, under all operating conditions, the entire refrigerant in the air-downstream-side heat exchanger can be kept in the superheated gas phase, thereby making it possible to blow out warm air having a temperature higher than the condensation temperature.

The penetrating members (21, 35, 37, 38, 39) are disposed inside the cooling passage (8) at positions so as to penetrate through the cooling passage (8), and have both of ends thereof fixed to the rear side wall (17) and the body side wall (18). The projecting members (33) (34A, 34B) are disposed inside the cooling passage (8) so as to project from the rear side wall (17) or the body side wall (18). The rectification ribs (36) are disposed at intermediate positions between the penetrating members (21, 35, 37, 38, 39) or the projecting members (33, 34A, 34B). The penetrating members (21, 35, 37, 38, 39) or the projecting members (33, 34A, 34B) disturbs the main stream (3a) of the cooling fluid (3) near the internal partition (19) in both directions of the leading edge wall (16) and the first internal partition (19) and make the main stream (3a ) non-uniformly or causes its channelling.
