According to one embodiment, an intelligent reflecting surface includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a sealing material, a liquid crystal layer, and a first transfer. The first substrate includes a plurality of patch electrodes, and a first power supply pad. The second substrate includes a common electrode, and a first power receiving pad electrically connected to the common electrode. The first transfer is in contact with the first power supply pad and the first power receiving pad. An uppermost layer of the first power supply pad, which is in contact with the first transfer, is formed of a transparent conductive material. The first power receiving pad is formed of a transparent conductive material. The common electrode is formed of metal.

Intelligent reflecting surface and phased array antenna

An intelligent reflecting surface includes a substrate having a first surface including a first side and a reflective region including a plurality of reflective elements arranged on the first surface, a plurality of reflective elements separated from each other by a first interval and arranged at a first pitch in a first direction and a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. Twice a distance from the first side to a first reflective element adjacent to the first side among the plurality of reflective elements is a sum of an integral multiple of the first pitch and the first interval.

According to one embodiment, a method of driving a phased array antenna, includes applying voltages to phase control electrodes in a first period such that radio waves to be emitted from antennas are in a same phase in a first emission direction, and applying the voltages to the phase control electrodes in a second period such that the radio waves to be emitted from the antennas are held in the same phase in the first emission direction. An absolute value of the voltage applied in the second period is different from an absolute value of the voltage applied in the first period, in each of the phase control electrodes.

An antenna device includes a strip conductor layer, a radiation conductor layer continuous from the strip conductor layer, a ground conductor layer facing the strip conductor layer and the radiation conductor layer, a liquid crystal layer between the strip conductor layer and the ground conductor layer, and the radiation conductor layer and the ground conductor layer, and an alignment film between the strip conductor layer and the liquid crystal layer, and the radiation conductor layer and the liquid crystal layer. The alignment film includes a first region overlapping the strip conductor layer and a second region overlapping the radiation conductor layer, and the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer in the first region is different from the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer in the second region.

According to one embodiment, a display device comprises a liquid crystal layer held between a first substrate and a second substrate, a display region having a first region in which a plurality of pixels are provided, a non-display region provided in an island-like shape in the display region and having a second region, a first polarizer and a second polarizer that overlap the first region, and a third polarizer and a fourth polarizer that overlap the second region, wherein a transmission axis of the fourth polarizer and a transmission axis of the second polarizer form an angle other than 0° and other than 90° with each other.

A display device comprises a liquid crystal panel including a plurality of pixels and an imaging device arranged on a back side of the liquid crystal panel. The imaging device has an imaging region overlaps with the imaging device and the other region other than the imaging region in a plan view. According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a sealant, a liquid crystal layer, an organic insulating film, an alignment film and an inorganic insulating film. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate. The sealant attaches the first substrate and the second substrate to each other. The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The organic insulating film, the alignment film and the inorganic insulating film are provided on the first substrate. The alignment film contacts the liquid crystal layer. The inorganic insulating film is located between the alignment film and the organic insulating film. At least part of the alignment film contacts the organic insulating film.
