An optical display device includes an image display element configured to emit image light, a deflection member configured to deflect the image light emitted from the image display element, an optical device including a lens barrel for accommodating a lens group including an objective lens and an eyepiece, and a moving mechanism provided at the lens barrel of the optical device and configured to hold a state in which at least the deflection member is moved in a direction intersecting an optical axis of the lens group.

Optical display device

An optical module includes a display element that emits image light of P-polarized light, an optical member including an incident portion on which the image light emitted is incident and an emission portion that emits the image light, a first wavelength plate that is disposed on the optical path between the display element and the optical member and that makes the image light of the P-polarized light into image light of circular polarized light, a second wavelength plate that is flat, that disposed between the incident portion and the emission portion of the optical member, and that makes the image light of the circular polarized light into image light of S-polarized light and make the image light of the S-polarized light into image light of P-polarized light, and a combiner that reflects the image light emitted from the optical member.

Optical module and head-mounted display device

A virtual image display device includes a display element, which is an image light generating unit that generates an image light, a first mirror that reflects the image light, a second mirror that reflects the image light reflected by the first mirror, and a third mirror that transmits external light and that reflects part of the image light reflected by the second mirror to guide the image light to a position of an exit pupil, wherein the first mirror has an angular dependence on a reflective surface.

A virtual image display device includes a display element, a light-guiding system configured to guide imaging light that exits the display element, and a mirror member having a first surface where the imaging light that exits the light-guiding system is incident while being refracted and a second surface that reflects the imaging light that passes through the first surface and causes the imaging light to exit the mirror member through the first surface where the imaging light is refracted. In the mirror member, the curvature of the first surface differs from the curvature of the second surface.

An optical unit includes a projection lens, a prism configured to guide the image light from the projection lens, and a mirror member configured to reflect, toward a pupil position, the image light from the prism, wherein the prism includes a first surface where the image light from the projection lens is incident while being transmitted, a second surface at which the image light that passed through the first surface is reflected, and a third surface at which the image light that passed through the second surface is reflected toward the second surface, and the image light reflected at the third surface is emitted while being transmitted through the second surface.

The light-guiding optical system is an eccentric optical system, and includes first and second incidence areas on which the image light emitted from the light emission surface is incident. A display device of the present disclosure includes a substrate, a lens layer including a lens, a light-transmitting layer that contacts a lens surface of the lens, and has translucency, a pixel electrode disposed between the substrate and the lens layer, and a color filter disposed between the pixel electrode and the lens layer. The lens is disposed so as to correspond to the pixel electrode. A refractive index of a constituent material for the lens is lower than a refractive index of a constituent material for the light-transmitting layer.

A display device of the present disclosure includes, along an optical path of imaging light emitted from an imaging light generation device, a first optical portion having a positive power, a second optical portion including a first diffraction element and having a positive power, a third optical portion having a positive power, and a fourth optical portion including a second diffraction element and having a positive power. In the optical path, the first diffraction element and the second diffraction element diffract the imaging light at least along a primary diffraction plane and a secondary diffraction plane orthogonal to the primary diffraction plane, and a deflection force of the imaging light in the primary diffraction plane is greater than a deflection force of the imaging light in the secondary diffraction plane.

A display module includes a display element, a light-guiding optical device, and a control unit configured to perform distortion correction including correction of a chromatic aberration of magnification. The light-guiding optical device is constituted of an optical system having non-axisymmetry in an up-and-down direction with respect to the imaging light entering the light-guiding optical device, and includes a first optical member having positive refractivity, a second optical member having positive refractivity, and a first reflection surface configured to reflect the imaging light toward a pupil position. The refractivity of the first optical member is greater than the refractivity of the second optical member. An abbe number of a constituent material of the first optical member is greater than an abbe number of a constituent material of the second optical member. The control unit performs distortion correction by a different distortion correction amount for each color light.

A display module includes an image light generation device, a light-guiding member, a first reflection surface configured to reflect the imaging light incident via the light-guiding member, a first diffraction element configured to diffract the imaging light, and a second diffraction element configured to diffract the image light and form an exit pupil. The image light is sequentially incident on a first deflection surface, a second deflection surface, a second reflection surface, a third reflection surface, a fourth reflection surface, and a third deflection surface inside the light-guiding member, and a distance from a reference position where an optical axis of the exit pupil and an emission surface intersect to the second deflection surface is longer than a distance from the reference position to the first deflection surface and longer than a distance from the reference position to the second reflection surface.

A display device according to the present disclosure includes a first optical unit having positive power, a second optical unit including a first diffraction element and having positive power, a third optical unit having positive power, and a fourth optical unit including a second diffraction element and having positive power, and the first to fourth optical units are provided along an optical path of imaging light emitted from an imaging light generating device. The second optical unit further includes a first member provided at one surface side of the first diffraction element, and a second member provided on a side of the first member opposite to a side where the first diffraction element is located, the first member is transmissive and has an elastic modulus of 50 GPa or greater, and the second member is transmissive and has optical power.

An image light generation module includes a first display element configured to emit first image light, a second display element configured to emit second image light, a third display element configured to emit third image light, a combining prism configured to emit combined image light combined from the first image light, the second image light, and the third image light, and a first gap defining member that defines a first gap between the first display element and the combining prism, a second gap defining member that defines a second gap between the second display element and the combining prism, and a third gap defining member that defines a third gap between the third display element and the combining prism, in which at least one of the first gap, the second gap, and the third gap is different in size from another of the gaps.
