In a sound processing method of operating audio equipment to perform sound processing relating to audio content in accordance with one embodiment, a distributor terminal communicates with the audio equipment and at least one listener terminal, the distributor terminal distributes the audio content from the distributor terminal to the at least one listener terminal, the distributor terminal specifies an operation listener terminal, from among the at least one listener terminal, that is permitted to change a sound processing parameter of the audio equipment, the operation listener terminal accepts the sound processing parameter changed by the operation listener terminal, the operation listener terminal transmits the sound processing parameter changed by the operation listener terminal to the distributor terminal, and the audio equipment performs the sound processing based on the changed sound processing parameter changed by the operation listener terminal.

An audio signal control circuit includes an impedance calculator, a suppression value setter, a level detector, and a level controller. The impedance calculator is configured to calculate impedance of a speaker from voltage and current of an audio signal to be outputted to the speaker. The suppression value setter is configured to set a suppression value of the audio signal, using the impedance. The level detector is configured to perform level detection using: i) the voltage when the impedance is equal to or more than a switching threshold value, and ii) the current when the impedance is less than the switching threshold value. The level controller is configured to perform level control of the audio signal using: i) a level of a detection signal that has been detected by the level detector, and ii) the suppression value.

An amplifier includes a power amplifier that amplifies an input signal, a VI detection circuit that is connected to a rear stage of the power amplifier to detect power of an output signal of the power amplifier, and a controller that turns on the power amplifier when the input signal is inputted to the power amplifier, turns off the power amplifier when the input signal is not inputted to the power amplifier, and turns on the power amplifier when the VI detection circuit detects a voltage that exceeds a predetermined value when the power amplifier is in off state.

A memory previously stores, as reference impedance characteristics, frequency characteristics of impedance of the speaker during a normal operating state of the speaker. During use of the speaker, a detection circuitry detects, as current impedance characteristics, frequency characteristics of impedance of the speaker on the basis of a real-time audio signal being supplied to the speaker. A determination circuitry determines presence/absence of an abnormality of the speaker on the basis of comparison between the detected current impedance characteristics and the stored reference impedance characteristics. Thus, it is possible to check the operation of the speaker based on of the real-time audio signal without using any dedicated test signal. In this way, it is possible to detect presence/absence of an abnormality of the speaker on the basis of a real-time audio signal being supplied to the speaker, for example, during an actual performance in a concert.

Speaker operation checking device and method

A level of an input signal is detected according to a first following rate, and a first level signal indicating the detected level is generated. A level of the input signal is detected according to a second following rate lower than the first following rate, and a second level signal indicating the detected level is generated. One of the first and second level signals is selected based on a relation (e.g., ratio) between the first and second level signals so that a gain is determined based on the selected one of the first and second level signals. The level of the first input signal is adjusted according to the determined gain. For example, if the level variation is dominant, the gain adjustment suitable for the level variation can be performed, whereas, if the stable level is dominant, the gain adjustment suitable for the stable level can be performed.

In a mixer system including an editing device that edits a configuration of signal processing by designating a combination of a plurality of components and a DSP that processes audio signals in accordance with the signal processing configuration edited by the editing device, when the mixer engine does not store a predetermined enabling key, audio signal processing including a protected component in the mixer engine is disabled, and when the mixer engine stores the predetermined enabling key, the audio signal processing is enabled. Further, the editing device is permitted to edit a signal processing configuration including the protected component irrespective of storage of the enabling key in the mixer engine.

In a mixer system including: a plurality of mixer engines each provided with a programmable DSP; and a PC controlling operations of the respective mixer engines, the PC stores, as zone data, a plurality of configuration data each indicating a configuration of signal processing to be executed by one mixer engine or more out of the mixer engines under the control of the PC, accepts the selection of the zone data, and when the necessary mixer engines are in a controllable state, transfers data on a part of the aforesaid configuration which is to be assigned to each of the mixer engines, to the corresponding mixer engines. Then, when the selection of the configuration is accepted, each of the mixer engines to which the configuration is transferred is caused to execute the audio signal processing according to the selected configuration.

In a waveform data processing apparatus, a transfer section reads out waveform data of multiple tracks stored in a first storage device in data units, and transfers the read waveform data to a second storage device having an access speed higher than an access speed of the first storage device. A reproduction section reads out the waveform data of the tracks from the second storage device for every sampling period, and which reproduces an audio signal according to the read waveform data. A control section replaces old waveform data which has been read from the second storage device by new waveform data which is read from the first storage device, whereby the audio signals of the tracks are continuously reproduced. The control section controls the transfer section to transfer, from the first storage device to track regions provided in the second storage device for respective tracks, pieces of the waveform data corresponding to the respective track regions, in an order of the tracks having a smaller number samples of non-reproduced waveform data or in an order of the tracks having a smaller number units of non-reproduced waveform data.

A mixer engine control program is executable by a computer for performing a method of displaying and editing a mixer configuration which specifies a mixing process of a signal processing apparatus. Logging on is made to the mixer engine control program with a user authority. Mixer configuration is read from a storage. The read mixer configuration is displayed and edited within a scope permitted by the user authority with which the mixer engine control program has been logged on. The edited mixer configuration is written back to the storage. The storage may store a protected mixer configuration created and supplied by a vendor, such that the mixer configuration created by the vendor is protected with a vendor authority higher than the user authority with which the user is able to log on the mixer engine control program. When the mixer configuration protected with the vendor authority is supplied, the supplied mixer configuration is protected against displaying and editing of the mixer configuration if the mixer engine control program has been logged on with the user authority.
