In an injection molding system, a rack on which a peripheral device can be mounted includes a fixing unit for removably fixing to a machine stool of an injection molding machine and a moving unit for making the rack movable alone. Accordingly, maintenance of the injection molding machine can be performed satisfactorily and positioning work is also made easier so that the rack can be transported easily.

Injection molding system

A plurality of connecting rods are attached to an injection device located opposite a stationary platen on a base structure of an injection molding machine. The stationary platen is provided with a magnetism generating unit formed of a permanent magnet, and the connecting rods are provided with a magnetic body. As the magnetism generating unit and the magnetic body are attracted to each other by magnetism, a nozzle of an injection unit is brought into contact with a mold. By this structure, the stationary platen can be prevented from inclining during nozzle touch operation.

Injection nozzle touch mechanism for an injection molding machine

An injection molding machine is provided with an automatic mold thickness adjusting apparatus. The amount of compensation of the position of a rear platen that is adjusted at the time of installation of a mold is determined by calculating the thermal expansion of the mold that is expected to occur at the completion of a rise in temperature based on the difference in temperature between the mold temperature at the time of mold thickness adjustment and the mold temperature at the time of injection molding. Then, the rear platen is moved to the compensated position thus determined.

The invention provides an injection molding machine that prevents inclination of a stationary platen by a nozzle touch force. A groove is formed in a base along the axis of injection. Protrusions are provided on both lateral sides of the stationary platen. A bottom of the stationary platen is fixed on a bottom of the groove and bottoms of the protrusions are fixed on tops of ridged formed at opposite sides of the groove. A nozzle touch force applied by a nozzle provided on the front of a screw cylinder is applied against substantially the center portion of the stationary platen. A distance in the direction of height from the bottoms of the protrusions that fixedly mount the stationary platen on the base to the height position of the nozzle touch force is smaller than when the stationary platen is not fixedly mounted on the base using protrusions, and therefore the moment exerted by the nozzle touch force that attempts to incline the stationary platen is smaller than it would be otherwise, preventing the stationary platen from inclining.

Injection molding machine

An aligning device whereby an injection nozzle can be easily aligned with the sprue of a mold. A stationary platen has a locating hole formed therein and a tapered portion continuous with the locating hole and tapered in a direction such that the tapered portion broadens toward the injection nozzle side. An aligning jig to be fitted into the locating hole and the tapered portion is prepared. The jig has a recess formed in the center of an end face thereof and having a shape matching that of the distal end of the injection nozzle. The jig is fitted into the locating hole, and the injection nozzle is engaged with the recess to align the injection nozzle with the axis of the locating hole. Since the mold is attached to the stationary platen such that the axis of the sprue of the mold is aligned with that of the locating hole, the injection nozzle becomes aligned with the sprue. The injection nozzle can be easily and accurately aligned even while the mold is attached to the stationary platen and also the mold and the injection cylinder are heated to high temperature.

Aligning device for an injection nozzle

A connecting member is formed by an upper plate portion and a side plate portion. One end of the upper plate portion is fixed to a fixed platen of an injection molding machine, and a lower end of the side plate portion is fixed to a base frame to which the fixed platen is fixed. This connecting member prevents the fixed platen from being tilted when a nozzle touch force is applied from an injection apparatus.

An injection mechanism for an injection molding machine includes a front plate carrying an injection cylinder. A guide rod is arranged fixedly relative to the front plate, and defines a longitudinal guiding axis. A movable plate is arranged movably relative to said front plate along said guiding axis, and carries an injection screw. A support structure is interposed between the guide rod and the movable plate, and movably supports the movable plate on the guide rod along the guiding axis. The support structure including a ball-engaging surface is provided on the guide rod and a ball-spline nut is provided in the movable plate. The ball-spline nut is engaged with the ball-engaging surface.

Injection mechanism for injection molding machine

A fixed platen and a rear platen of an injection molding machine are connected to each other via tie bars. A coil spring is disposed between the tie bar and the rear platen such that the rear platen is urged in a direction away from the fixed platen. A mold thickness adjusting member such as a nut is also provided for causing the rear platen to move along the tie bar toward the fixed platen against the resilience of the urging means.

A tetragonal prism having a rectangular cross section is attached, as a linear motor movable section, to a moving plate to which a screw is attached rotatably and also immovably in an axial direction. A magnet is attached to each surface of the movable section. A hole section is provided in an outer frame. A linear motor coil is provided on the linear motor fixed section so that it may face the magnet on the surface of the movable section. A screw shaft is rotated by a motor through a measuring shaft penetrating a center of the movable section. By driving the linear motor comprising the magnet and the coil corresponding to each other, the screw is moved and injected in an axial direction. The fixed section is detachable and a gap between the magnet and the coil can be easily adjusted.

Insert molding method and apparatus therefor

An electric injection molding machine having a high degree of freedom in design, in which the design change of a part of the injection molding machine does not influence the whole design of the machine. The various layouts can be selected in accordance with a space in a factory in which the machine is to be installed. A base for a mechanical component and a housing for an electric component are provided separately and independently. A clamping unit and an injection unit of the mechanical component is mounted on the base. A power unit for supplying the mechanical component with electric power and a control unit for controlling the mechanical component of the electric component are accommodated in the housing. The mechanical component and the electric component are combined to constitute the injection molding machine in accordance with various arrangement patterns.
