An assembly structure for facilitating assembly of laminated cells, for reducing the possibility of gas leakage and for preventing the reduction of generating efficiency of cells due to the gas leakage is provided. A plate-shaped electrochemical cell made of a ceramic material with a through hole formed therein is held by a holding member. The holding member is made of a ceramic material having a planar main body with a protruded portion. A first supply hole for supplying a first gas and a second supply hole for supplying a second gas are formed in the holding member. The planar main body of the holding member has a first sealing surface against a first surface of the electrochemical cell while the protruded portion is inserted into the through hole.

A method for manufacturing ceramics with fine hole(s) includes the steps of: forming independently ceramic compacts, said ceramic compacts having their shapes corresponding to the divided parts of one integrated body having at least one fine hole along which the integrated body is divided; joining said compacts into an integrated form by cold isostatic pressing (CIP); and firing the integrated compact. Another method for manufacturing ceramics with fine hole(s) includes the steps of: forming independently ceramic compacts; grooving said compacts to make at least one desired partial hole in given places of each cross section by machining; joining said compacts into an integrated form by cold isostatic pressing (CIP); and firing the integrated compact. According to these methods, there can be obtained a sintered ceramic body with holes, each having a very small diameter and an unrestricted depth, or holes in a complex or curved shape.

A method for producing a long ceramic body with lower shape fluctuations and higher shape accuracy, by controlling the deformation of the long ceramic body, includes firing a long non-sintered ceramic body which has been suspended in a sheath so as not to contact directly the interior surface of the sheath, at a sufficient temperature and for a sufficient time until sintering is completed; inverting the long body; and re-firing the long body at a sufficient temperature for re-sintering the same. A predetermined downward load is applied to the long body in the vicinity of the bottom thereof during re-firing.

A method for manufacturing a ceramic shell-and-tube type heat exchanger having a plurality of heat transfer tubes and tubular plates joined to both the end portions of these heat transfer tubes which has the steps of inserting the heat transfer tubes of sintered tubular ceramics into through-holes of the tubular plates of unsintered plate-like ceramics having a plurality of the through-holes, standing the heat transfer tubes vertically to a floor surface, and then firing them in a condition where the tubular plates are positioned at both the upper and lower end portions of the heat transfer tubes, thereby integrally joining the tubular plates to both the end portions of the plurality of heat transfer tubes by the utilization of a difference between firing shrinkage ratios of both the members, the method having the steps of interposing at least one tubular plate between the tubular plate positioned at the upper end portions and the tubular plate positioned at the lower end portions of the heat transfer tubes, and then firing them to integrally join them. The ceramic shell-and-tube type heat exchanger can be obtained in which the deformation of the heat transfer tubes can be remarkably inhibited and which is free from the deterioration of joining strength due to the deformation of the heat transfer tubes in the firing join step and the occurrence of gas leakage due to a joining failure.

A method for producing a long ceramic body, including the steps of pre-firing a non-fired long ceramic body at a first temperature for a sufficient time to achieve a shrinkage ratio in the body of 5% to 95%, thereby forming a pre-fired ceramic body, hanging the pre-fired ceramic body in a substantially vertical direction inside a sheath while maintaining a spacing between the pre-fired ceramic body and the sheath, applying a downward load to the pre-fired ceramic body at a position proximate the bottom end thereof, and firing the pre-fired body at a second temperature for a sufficient time to sinter the pre-fired ceramic body.

A method for manufacturing a ceramic shell-and tube type heat exchanger provided with fins includes the steps of: inserting heat transfer tubes of sintered tubular ceramic into throughholes of tubular plates of unsintered plate-like ceramic each having a plurality of the throughholes for fixing the heat transfer tubes inserted thereinto; standing the heat transfer tubes vertically to a floor surface; positioning the tubular plates at both the upper and lower end portions of the heat transfer tubes; disposing between the tubular plates many fin plates of unsintered ceramic so as to pile up the fin plates in the direction of a length of the heat transfer tubes, each of the fin plates including a thin plate having a plurality of throughholes for fixing the heat transfer tubes inserted thereinto, and protrusions formed on both edge portions of the thin plate; firing the components so as to unitarily join them by the utilization of differences of firing shrinkage ratios among the heat transfer tubes, the tubular plates, and the fin plates; and removing the protrusions from the fin plates.

Ceramic shell-and-tube type heat exchanger and method for manufacturing

A ceramic blade for a hybrid type gas turbine blade has a dovetail portion, a platform portion formed on the dovetail portion and blade portions formed on the platform portion. The number of the blade portions formed on one platform portion is two or more. The upper surface of the platform portion is shaped into an arc-like form, and the dovetail portion is linearly formed in a tangential direction to a turbine rotation direction. By the utilization of this blade, the hybrid type gas turbine blade can inhibit the leakage of a gas and can be easily manufactured and is excellent in durability.

To improve the precision of the cooling fine holes of a large-sized and complex-shaped ceramic gas-turbine nozzle with fine cooling holes, a ceramic gas-turbine nozzle with fine cooling holes has a profile degree of 1.0% or less relative to the blade length, a roundness of the fine cooling holes of 0.3 mm or less, and a straightness of the fine cooling holes of 1% or less relative to the blade length. This nozzle is prepared by a method in which two compacts of shroud portions and at least one compact of a blade portion and separately molded are joined by isotropic press molding to be calcined, and the predetermined positions of the resulting calcined compact are subjected to supersonic processing to bore cooling fine holes. The resulting compact is then fired.
