A pressure sensoraccording to the first aspect of the invention includes: a substrate; and a functional elementwhich is laid on the substrateand is composed of functional titanium oxide including crystal grains of at least one of &#x3b2;-phase trititanium pentoxide (&#x3b2;-TiO) and &#x3bb;-phase trititanium pentoxide (&#x3bb;-TiO) and having the property that at least a portion of crystal grains of at least one of &#x3b2;-phase trititanium pentoxide (&#x3b2;-TiO) and &#x3bb;-phase trititanium pentoxide (&#x3bb;-TiO) change into crystal grains of titanium dioxide (TiO) when the functional titanium oxide is heated to 350&#xb0; C. or higher. The substrateincludes a substrate thin-film sectionhaving a thin film form in which the thickness in the stacking direction of the substrateand the functional elementis smaller than that in the other directions.

Pressure sensor

The organic electroluminescence element of the present invention includes: a first substrate; a second substrate facing the first substrate; an element member between the first and second substrates; first and second extension electrodes on first and second inner surfaces of the first and second substrates facing the element member; and an insulating member having an electrically insulating property. The element member includes: a functional layer including a light-emitting layer and having first and second surfaces in a thickness direction; and first and second electrode layers on the respective first and second surfaces of the functional layer. The element member is between the first and second extension electrodes such that parts of the first and second electrode layers are in contact with the first and second extension electrodes respectively. The insulating member is between the first and second inner surfaces of the respective first and second substrates.

Organic electroluminescence element and production method therefor

There is provided an electrode foil that can form an organic electroluminescent device having a high external quantum efficiency despite the presence of the organic nitrogen compound at the interface of a metal foil and a reflective layer. The electrode foil of the invention includes a metal foil made of copper or copper alloy and a reflective layer provided on at least one surface of the metal foil. The electrode foil has an organic nitrogen compound at the interface between the metal foil and the reflective layer in such an amount that the ratio of the number of counts on the C&#x2014;N bond to the total number of counts on the copper and the C&#x2014;N bond: CN/(CN+Cu) in the organic nitrogen compound is 0.4 or less determined by time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometric analysis (TOF-SIMS) of the interface.

Electrode foil and organic light-emitting device

A luminescent element includes a first electrode layer, a functional layer including an emitting layer and being disposed on the first electrode layer, a conductive layer permitting transmission of light and being disposed on the functional layer, and a first patterned electrode and a second patterned electrode each having an opening and being disposed on the conductive layer to be separated from each other. The conductive layer extends from a first area in which the first patterned electrode is disposed on the conductive layer to a second area in which the second patterned electrode is disposed on the conductive layer.

Luminescent element and lighting device using the same

The organic electroluminescence element in accordance with the present invention includes: a light-emitting layer; a first electrode layer disposed on a first surface in a thickness direction of the light-emitting layer; a second electrode layer disposed on a second surface in the thickness direction of the light-emitting layer; and an electrically conductive layer. The light-emitting layer is configured to emit light when a predetermined voltage is applied between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. The second electrode layer includes an electrode part covering the second surface and an opening part formed in the electrode part to expose the second surface. The electrically conductive layer is configured to allow the light to pass therethrough, and is formed on an exposed region of the second surface exposed through the opening part in such a way as to be electrically connected to the electrode part and the light-emitting layer.

Organic electroluminescence element

A luminescence element includes a substrate, a first electrode layer located on the substrate, a second electrode layer located above the first electrode layer and arranged to oppose the first electrode layer, and an emitting layer between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. The second electrode layer includes a light-transmitting conductive layer that contains a conductive polymer and a cured resin in which constituent molecules are crosslinked with one another.

Luminescence element, lighting device including the same, and method for manufacturing the same

The organic electroluminescence element according to the present invention includes: a light-emitting layer; a first electrode layer on a first surface in a thickness direction of the light-emitting layer; a second electrode layer on a second surface in the thickness direction of the light-emitting layer; an electrically conductive layer; and an insulating layer. The light-emitting layer emits light when a predetermined voltage is applied between the first and second electrode layers. The second electrode layer includes an electrode part covering the second surface and an opening part formed in the electrode part to expose the second surface therethrough. The electrically conductive layer allows the light to pass therethrough, and formed on an exposed region of the second surface exposed through the opening part so as to be electrically connected to the electrode part and the light-emitting layer. The insulating layer is interposed between the electrode part and the second surface.

The organic electroluminescence element in accordance with the present invention includes: a light-emitting layer; a first electrode layer on a first surface in a thickness direction of the light-emitting layer; a second electrode layer on a second surface in the thickness direction of the light-emitting layer; an electrically conductive layer; and an insulating layer. The second electrode layer includes an electrode part covering the second surface and an opening part formed in the electrode part to expose the second surface. The electrically conductive layer is designed to allow the light to pass therethrough, and is interposed between the second surface and the second electrode layer to cover the second surface. The insulating layer is interposed between the second surface and the electrically conductive layer to overlap the electrode part.

A photoelectric element provided with an electron transport layer having excellent electron transport property and sufficiently wide reaction interface, and that has excellent conversion efficiency. The photoelectric element has an electron transport layerand a hole transport layersandwiched between a pair of electrodesand. The electron transport layeris formed of an organic compound having a redox moiety capable of being oxidized and reduced repeatedly. The organic compound contains an electrolyte solution which stabilizes the reduced state of the redox moiety, and forms a gel layercontaining a sensitizing dye. Thus, the organic compound and the electrolyte solution in the electron transport layerconstitute the gel layer, while at the same time, the sensitizing dye is present within the gel layer, whereby the reaction interface of the organic compound is enlarged, improving the conversion efficiency and the electron hand-over efficiency from the sensitizing dye to the organic compound in the electron transport layer, as a result of which the electron transport efficiency is improved.

Photoelectric element

Providing an organic electroluminescence element that can reduce the unevenness of the brightness and can improve the external quantum efficiency. The organic electroluminescence element includes a substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, a functional layerinterleaved between the first electrodethe second electrodeand including a light emission layer, and a conductive layer. The resistivities of the first electrodeand the second electrodeare less than the resistivity of transparent conductive oxide. The second electrodehas an opening for light extraction. The functional layerincludes, as the outermost layer on the second electrodeside, a carrier injection layer. The conductive layeris optically transparent and is in contact with the second electrodeand the functional layer. The carrier injection layerhas a recess in the projection domain of the opening.

This invention aims to provide a photpelectrical device with a superior conversion efficiency, which comprises an electron transport layer giving a superior electron-transporting performance and a sufficiently large dimentional interface. The photoelectric device further comprises a pair of electrode and a hole transport layer with the electron transport layer and the hole transport layer being interposed between electrodes. The electron transport layer is made of an organic compound having a redox moiety capable of being oxidized and reduced repeatedly. The organic compound is included in a gel layer containing an electrolyte solution which stabilizes a reduction state of the redox moiety.

Photoelectric device

A divalent copper salt and/or trivalent iron salt is supported on a surface of a metal ion-doped titanium oxide obtained by doping titanium oxide with metal ions to give a metal ion-doped titanium oxide with a valence band potential of 3 V or more (vs. SHE, pH=0) and a bandgap of 3 V or less between the valence band and an energy level of electrons excited from the valence band (including conduction band minimum potential and isolated potential). The metal ion-doped titanium oxide can be made to exhibit strong oxidative decomposition activity when irradiated with visible light based on the fact the divalent copper salt or trivalent iron salt functions as a catalyst for multi-electron reduction of oxygen.

Photocatalytic material, method of decomposing organic substance, interior member, air cleaning device, and device for producing oxidizing agent

Disclosed is a photoelectric element having an excellent conversion efficiency and provided with a hole transporting layer that is endowed with excellent hole transporting properties and a sufficiently large reaction interface. The photoelectric element of the invention has a pair of electrodes, an electron transporting layer and a hole transporting layer which are disposed between the electrodes, and an electrolyte solution. The hole transporting layer includes a first organic compound having a redox moiety capable of repeated oxidation and reduction. The electrolyte solution stabilizes a reduced state of the redox moiety. The organic compound and the electrolyte solution together form a first gel layer.

The present invention provides a tungsten trioxide microparticle carrying on its surface divalent copper salt. The divalent copper salt is utilized to perform a multi-electron reduction of oxygen. The tungsten trioxide exhibits a high oxidative decomposition activity when exposed to visible light.
