A medical image diagnosis apparatus according to an embodiment includes a storage circuitry and processing circuitry. The storage circuitry is configured to store therein workflow information indicating a plurality of procedures related to a preparation for an imaging process. The processing circuitry is configured to analyze an image obtained by a camera. The processing circuitry is configured to identify which of the plurality of procedures has been performed on the basis of the workflow information and a result of the analysis performed on the image and to cause an informing device to provide information about one or more of the procedures corresponding to a result of the identifying.

A couchtop attachment-detachment type RF coil according to an embodiment is attachable to and detachable from connector embedded in a couchtop of a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, and forms a cable-free RF coil by being fitted with the connector and thereby joined with a coil element embedded in the couchtop, the cable-free RF coil corresponding to one area to be imaged of a subject.

According to one embodiment, an RF coil storage device stores an RF coil device which receives a magnetic resonance signal from an object with a coil element in magnetic resonance imaging. This RF coil storage device includes a storage rack on which the RF coil device is placed, and processing circuitry configured to acquire an index signal which is used for determining presence/absence of a failure, from the RF coil device placed on the storage rack.

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry and a display. The processing circuitry acquires information of an RF (radio frequency) coil. The processing circuitry sets a protocol to be applied to imaging using the RF coil before execution of the imaging. When there are a plurality of protocols that can be selected as the protocol applied to the imaging, the display displays at least one protocol narrowed down from the protocols as the protocol that can be applied to the imaging, based on information of the RF coil.

According to an embodiment, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a couch, a gantry, a receiving coil, a converter, and a collector. On the couch, a subject is placed. The gantry supports a static magnetic field magnet and a gradient coil. The receiving coil receives a magnetic resonance signal emitted from the subject. The converter converts a magnetic resonance signal output from the receiving coil into a digital signal, thereby generating magnetic resonance signal data. The collector collects the magnetic resonance signal data. The couch or the gantry includes a coil port that connects the receiving coil and the collector to each other. The converter is provided in the coil port or a relay device that relays between the receiving coil and the coil port.

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes a plurality of first coil elements and a connector. The first coil elements are embedded in a couchtop on which a subject is placed. The connector is provided in such a region of the couchtop that is positioned on the inside of the loop of at least one of the first coil elements. It is possible to attach and detach a second coil element different from the first coil elements to and from the connector.

In one embodiment, an RF coil device includes a base board, a belt member, a first coil element, a second coil element inside the base board, and a connecting unit. Both ends of the belt member are respectively connected to mutually separated places on the base board, so that the center part of the belt member is located on the anterior surface of the base board. The belt member is curved to form airspace between the center part thereof and the anterior surface for letting an arm pass through in interdigitation state. The first coil element includes first and second partial coils inside the belt member, and becomes a loop coil element by their connection. The connecting unit detachably connects the base board to the belt member, and mutually connects the first and second partial coils in the interdigitation state.

A multichannel RF switching device of an embodiment has a connector in which all or some of a plurality of terminals are configured to be connected to a plurality of coil elements, a matrix switch having a plurality of input ports arranged in a line and a plurality of output ports arranged in a line, and a wiring portion connecting the respective terminals configured to be connected to the plural coil elements with a plurality of input ports in use included in the plural input ports one-on-one, the input ports in use amounting to fewer than the total number of the input ports, wherein the wiring portion connects the respective terminals with the input ports in use one-on-one in such a way that a separation between adjacent two of all or some of the input ports in use is larger than a separation between adjacent two of the input ports.

In a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, an event generating substrate included in a sequence control unit generates an event code to make an instruction for switching a receiving path during a scan based on scanning conditions that are set in advance of the scan. When the event code is generated, a radio-frequency switch-matrix substrate of a gantry unit switches the receiving path that connects a receiving coil and a receiving circuit.

A radio-frequency coil apparatus includes a first unit including a first radio-frequency coil that receives a magnetic resonance signal emitted from a subject, a second unit including a second radio-frequency coil that receives the magnetic resonance signal, independently from the first radio-frequency coil. The first unit and the second unit are supported by a support member. The support member is attachable/detachable to/from at least one of the first unit and the second unit. The support member is configured to be able to change the relative positions of the first unit and the second unit.
