A control device for an on-board device including an actuator is configured to: supply power to a first microprocessor and a first driver circuit from a first power source through a first power supply path; supply power to a second microprocessor and a second driver circuit from a second power source through a second power supply path; and use the first and second driver circuits to drive the actuator. In this control device, the negative electrodes of the first and second power sources are electrically connected to a common ground portion. Specifically, the first negative electrode of the first power source and the second negative electrode of the second power source are connected to the common ground portion respectively through independent first and second connector portions.

A brushless motor includes: a motor rotor; a stator coil section which has a plurality of energization phases, which includes a first stator coil and a second stator coil that are provided to each phase, and which is arranged to generate a magnetic field, and thereby rotate the motor rotor; and a connection switching section configured to switch a connection of the first stator coil and the second stator coil from a serial connection to a parallel connection, or from the parallel connection to the serial connection.

A nozzle according to one embodiment includes a nozzle unit and a guide surface. A first passage, a second passage, and the guide surface are provided to the nozzle unit. The first passage has a first open end. The second passage has a second open end, and a section that is positioned upstream of the second open end and that extends in a second direction. The guide surface has an edge in a first direction. The guide surface is exposed on the outer side at the edge, is along a third direction at the edge, the third direction being a direction becoming more distanced from an axis than the second direction does, as the third direction is extended further toward the first direction. A flow of fluid ejected from the second open end follows the guide surface, and becomes separated from the nozzle unit at the edge.

A control device is configured to: receive input of a signal of first actual axis phase outputted from the first motor rotational position sensor; receive input of a signal of value of electric current flowing through the electric motor; estimate as a control phase a phase of an induced voltage occurring in the electric motor, based on the signal of value of electric current; and determine whether or not the first motor rotational position sensor is abnormal, based on a difference between the first actual axis phase and the control phase.

One of objects of the present invention is to provide a power steering apparatus capable of improving accuracy of abnormality detection. A power steering apparatus includes a steering mechanism configured to transmit a rotation of a steering wheel to a turning target wheel, an electric motor configured to provide a steering force to the steering mechanism, a torque sensor configured to detect a steering torque generated on the steering mechanism, and a control unit configured to calculate, based on the steering torque, an instruction signal for controlling driving of the electric motor and output the instruction signal to the electric motor.
