An endoscope apparatus includes an endoscope insertion section and an optical adapter that is detachably attachable to the endoscope insertion section. In the optical adapter, an LED and a resistor for connection detection are connected in parallel to two electric contacts. In the endoscope insertion section, two signal lines are connected to electric contacts, which are connectable to the two electric contacts in the optical adapter. The endoscope apparatus includes an attachment-and-detachment determining power supply that is connected to one of the signal lines through a switching circuit, and an optical-adapter-attachment-and-detachment determining section. When connection of the optical adapter is detected, the switching circuit is switched to supply an electric current for turning on the LED from an LED turn-on power supply to the one of the signal lines.

Endoscope apparatus and method of controlling endoscope apparatus

An endoscope apparatus includes an apparatus main body having a housing with a concave portion formed in one surface, and an endoscope unit including a detachable connector portion in the concave portion, wherein, when the connector portion is mounted to the concave portion, the connector portion constitutes a part of the one surface. More preferably, a packing is provided in the housing or the connector portion that, when the connector portion is mounted to the housing, retains the mutual mating surfaces of the housing and the connector portion in a closely contacting state.

An endoscope system includes an endoscope switching deviceto which a plurality of endoscope devices are simultaneously connected, and an endoscope control device which controls the plurality of endoscope devices via the endoscope switching device. The endoscope switching deviceincludes an image combining circuitwhich combines video signals outputted from the plurality of endoscope devices and creates a combined image signal for simultaneously displaying the plurality of endoscope images, and a switching device control unitwhich controls the image combining circuit. The switching device control unitcontrols the operation for distributing a control command from a remote controller or PC to the corresponding endoscope device based on a character code sent from a system control unit in the endoscope control device. Simultaneously, the switching device control unitcontrols the image combining circuitvia a serial I/F.

Endoscope system

A protective body packages an exterior of a capsule endoscope body of a capsule endoscope such that a field of vision of an objective lens system is not obstructed. As a result, even if the capsule endoscope collides against a wall surface inside an object being examined, a circular cylinder portion of the protective body is elastically deformed so that the protective body itself becomes a shock absorbing portion and protects each portion inside a case as well as actual LED covers and a lens cover. As a result, the capsule endoscope body can be recovered in an undamaged condition, and unnecessary costs can be reduced by reusing the capsule endoscope body.

Capsule endoscope

An endoscope comprises an inserting unit main body, and a head unit that is freely detachably attached to the distal end of the inserting unit main body and that includes an image pickup device which picks up an image of an object and a light emitting element which irradiates illumination light to the object. A holding member holds the head unit such that distal extension of the holding member angles the head unit in a radial direction orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the distal end of the inserting unit main body.

Endoscope

An endoscope control system comprises a network server device which is provided with an interface for executing an external application software and stores a graphical user interface (GUI) which is a display information which is written in at least a server language and external application software, and a network interface (network I/F). By doing this, it is possible to control remotely the endoscope device without connecting the endoscope device and the control section.

Remote controllable endoscope system

An endoscope system comprises an endoscope for industrial use, a remote control unit, a light source unit, a CCU, a motor-driven angling unit, a drum rotation variable resistor, a power supply unit, a buzzer, and a microphone. These apparatuses constituting a basic system are controlled by a system control CPU incorporated in a control unit. The system control CPU in the control unit is connected to an angle control CPU in the motor-driven angling unit and a DSP control CPU in the CCU over signal lines. Moreover, the system control CPU is connected to a remote control CPU in the remote control unit through a connector over a signal line. Consequently, the complex functions of the apparatuses are controlled in a centralized manner. This results in improved ease of use.
