A video display device includes performs a first Retinex process on an inputted video and a second Retinex process, which is different from the first Retinex process, on the inputted video. A video composing unit is configured to compose a video processed by the first Retinex processing unit and a video processed by the second Retinex processing unit in accordance with a feature of the inputted video, which is then displayed. In a process of composing the video processed by the first and second Retinex processing units, the video composing unit is configured to perform a process of converting a luminance level for each pixel so that more output luminance levels are assigned to a luminance band having a large frequency distribution to improve visibility of the video. A gain of the luminance level converting process is varied in accordance with an average pixel value level of the inputted video.

Video display device and projector

A technology capable of suitably correcting a geometric distortion caused by a shape of a curved surface of a screen or the like and obtaining a suitable image easily viewable for a user is provided. A projector is an image display apparatus configured to project an image onto a screen and includes a projection lens arranged at a first position and a camera arranged at a second position. When the screen has a curved surface, a camera image obtained by capturing a first image projected on the screen by the camera is acquired, and a geometric transformation for correcting a geometric distortion caused by the curved surface seen from a first virtual viewpoint position (virtual viewpoint) is performed for an image to be displayed based on information of the camera image, the first position, and the second position, and a post-transformation image is projected onto the screen.

Image display apparatus and method

An image display system is configured such that an image display device and an image processing device are connected to each other through a network. The image display device is provided with an instruction information generation unit for generating instruction information pertaining to image-processing to be performed on an image input signal; an image signal transmission unit for transmitting the instruction information to the image processing device; a corrected signal reception unit for receiving a corrected image input signal obtained through image-processing performed by the image processing device on the basis of the instruction information; and a display signal output unit for outputting an image output signal based on the corrected image input signal, to an object where an image is to be displayed. The image processing device receives the image input signal connected through the network and performs image-processing on the image input signal according to the instruction information.

Provided are: a video-image transformation unit performing video-image transformation to a video image inputted from outside; a video-image projection unit projecting, onto a video-image projection surface, a video image video-image-transformed by the video-image transformation unit; an image sensor acquiring a projected range of the projected video image projected by the video-image projection unit and an image obtained by photographing a corrected object; and a processor performing a calculation processing using the image photographed by the image sensor. Projection type video-image display apparatus and projected video-image adjusting method

An object is to provide a technology for correcting color of a projected video more suitably. In order to solve the above-described object, a configuration includes a video projector configured to display a plurality of colors in time division and project a video to be displayed, and a color corrector configured to perform color correction on a projected video from the video projector. In the configuration, the projected video projected by the video projector is imaged by an internal imaging apparatus or an external imaging apparatus connected by wire or wireless connection, and the color corrector performs the color correction on the basis of a video corresponding to time division one period of the projected video detected from the imaged image or color information of the video corresponding to N times period of time division one period.

Projection-type video display device

An image display system is configured such that an image display device and an image processing device are connected to each other through a network. The image display device is provided with: an instruction information generation unit for generating instruction information pertaining to image-processing to be performed on an image input signal; an image signal transmission unit for transmitting the instruction information to the image processing device; a corrected signal reception unit for receiving a corrected image input signal obtained through image-processing performed by the image processing device on the basis of the instruction information; and a display signal output unit for outputting an image output signal based on the corrected image input signal, to an object where an image is to be displayed. Image display device, image display method and image display system

An image signal is subjected to image correction performed by an image correction unit on the basis of retinex processing. The image correction unit performs spectral decomposition for the image signal. A retinex unit performs retinex processing for the image signal subjected to the spectral decomposition, and a spectrum synthesis unit synthesizes the image signal output from the retinex unit. A transformation unit performs transformation from a RGB color space to a HSV color space, and an inverse transformation unit performs transformation from the HSV color space to the RGB color space. The transformation unit transforms an input image signal and outputs the transformed image signal to the spectral decomposition unit. The inverse transformation unit receives the output signal from the spectrum synthesis unit and outputs an image correction signal. Spectral decomposition of the image signal in the spectral decomposition unit is hue-based spectral decomposition in the HSV color space.

Image processing apparatus

An object is to obtain a visibility-improved video while more favorably maintaining a color rendering property in a video display device. To achieve the object, a video input unit, a video correcting unit that performs video correction on a video input by the video input unit, and a video display unit that displays the video corrected by the video correcting unit are included, and the video correcting unit is configured to perform local luminance correction on the video input by the video input unit, acquire a correction intensity for each part of the local luminance correction, and perform local saturation correction based on the correction intensity.

Video display device

A display system includes: a video display apparatus; and a mobile terminal that communicate with each other. The video display apparatus includes: a measurement pattern generator that generates a plurality of measurement patterns; a projection unit that projects the measurement patterns; a first transceiver that communicates with the mobile terminal to receive information regarding distortion correction of video; and a distortion corrector that corrects the distortion. The mobile terminal includes: a camera unit that photographs the projected measurement patterns; a controller that generates the distortion correction information based on the photographed measurement patterns; and a second transceiver that communicates with the first transceiver to transmit the distortion correction information to the video display apparatus. The measurement pattern generator adds a common pattern to each measurement pattern, which indicates a reference position of each of the measurement patterns. The controller generates the distortion correction information based on the common pattern.

A video display apparatus that receives an input of a video input signal and that displays a video based on the video input signal includes a viewer detection unit that detects a positional relation between a screen on which the video is displayed and a viewer who watches the video and that generates viewer position information including the detection result, an image processing unit that executes image correction processing for a correction region which is such a partial region of an image based on the video input signal as being set in correspondence with viewer position information, and a video display unit that displays, on the screen, a video based on a corrected video signal having been subjected to the image correction processing.

An image generation device performs coordinate transformation, based on a coordinate transformation table, to a two-dimensional first image having a span in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction and acquired by overlooking and imaging an object from a first viewpoint at a first depression angle, and generates and outputs a second image which was obtained by overlooking the object from a second viewpoint which is different from the first viewpoint at a second depression angle which is different from the first depression angle. The coordinate transformation table is a table for transforming coordinates of a plurality of first selected pixels selected from a plurality of first pixels constituting the first image into coordinates of second selected pixels corresponding to a plurality of second pixels constituting the second image.

Image generation device, coordinate transformation table creation device and creation method

When projecting a video in conformity to the shape of a three-dimensional object using a projector, a pattern such as a grid is projected and the projected pattern is photographed, and then the position or shape of a projection object is calculated, whereby making it possible to apply appropriate geometric transformation to a projected video. However, when a grid is projected in superposition while video content is being displayed, the grid is visible to a viewer, and that the position or shape of a projection video cannot be calculated while a video content is being displayed. The present invention uses the freedom of color representation and the color redundancy of a color wheel, buries an invisible pattern not visible to human eyes in a video, and photographs the video in synchronism with the rotation of the color wheel, thereby making it possible to discriminate the buried invisible pattern.
