A plurality of upper plug contacts are each brought into contact with a master elastic piece and a slave elastic piece of a corresponding lower receptacle contact in accordance with elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece. A plurality of lower plug contacts are each brought into contact with a master elastic piece and a slave elastic piece of a corresponding upper receptacle contact in accordance with elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece. For example, as shown in FIG., in a state where an upper connector and a lower connector are mated, a direction of the elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece of each upper receptacle contact is different from a direction of the elastic deformation of the master elastic piece and the slave elastic piece of each lower receptacle contact.

Board-to-board connector assembly

An electrical connector for electrically connecting conductive portions formed on edges of connection objects, respectively. The electrical connector comprises an electrode sheet and a press member. The electrode sheet comprises an insulation sheet and an electrode formed on the insulation sheet. The press member comprises a plurality of springs arranged to press the insulation sheet against the conductive portions of the connection objects to force the electrode to be brought into contact with the conductive portions.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector is disclosed. Connection targets have edges, respectively, on which conductive portions are formed. The electrical connector serves to electrically connect the conductive portions of connection targets with the edges facing each other. The electrical connector comprises an electrode sheet, a press member and a connection keeper. The electrode sheet comprises an insulation sheet and an electrode pattern formed on the insulation sheet. The press member is made of elastic material distinct from the electrode sheet. The press member is arranged to press the electrode pattern against the conductive portions of the connection targets when the press member is compressed, so that the conductive portions of the connection targets are connected to each other by the electrode pattern. The connection keeper is configured to keep the connection between the conductive portions of the connection targets with the press member compressed.

In a magnetic connector acquiring connection with a mating connector by magnetic force, a base member has a particular surface to be faced to the mating connector upon connection. An electrode terminal is fixed to the base member and adapted to be electrically connected to the mating connector. The base member has a magnetic force generating portion having a plurality of magnetic poles for producing the magnetic force. N and the S poles of the magnetic poles are alternately arranged along the particular surface in a predetermined direction. Thus, the connector is properly positioned relative to the mating connector by the magnetic force.

A method of making electrical connecting elements includes a metallic thin film is formed on a mold having protrusions complementary in shape to a conductor pattern to be formed; a substrate having a transfer layer of adherent (or adhesive) material applied to one side surface thereof is provided; and the transfer layer side of the substrate is brought into intimate contact with the metallic thin film laid over the protrusions , followed by pulling the transfer layer apart from the mold so as to transfer the metallic thin film covering the protrusions onto the transfer layer to thereby form the conductor pattern on the transfer layer

Method of producing electrical connecting elements

A metallic thin film is formed on a mold having protrusions complementary in shape to a conductor pattern to be formed; a substrate having a transfer layer of adherent (or adhesive) material applied to one side surface thereof is provided; and the transfer layer side of the substrate is brought into intimate contact with the metallic thin film laid over the protrusions , followed by pulling the transfer layer apart from the mold so as to transfer the metallic thin film covering the protrusions onto the transfer layer to thereby form the conductor pattern on the transfer layer . The metal film may include cooper and a weak adherence layer which may be gold.
