A liquid ejection apparatus is provided that includes a plurality of liquid ejection head units that are configured to eject liquid onto a conveyed object being conveyed; a detection unit that is provided with respect to each liquid ejection head unit of the plurality of liquid ejection head units and is configured to output a detection result indicating at least one of a position, a moving speed, and an amount of movement of the conveyed object with respect to a conveying direction of the conveyed object; and a control unit configured to control each liquid ejection head unit among the plurality of liquid ejection head units to eject liquid at a timing based on a plurality of the detection results of a plurality of the detection units.

A liquid discharge apparatus includes liquid discharge head units, an image sensor, and processing circuitry. The circuitry detects, based on image data detected by the sensor, an amount of deviation between positions on an object onto which liquid has been discharged by the head units; corrects a timing of discharging the liquid, based on the amount of deviation; switches between first control of conveying the object at a first speed while the sensor images the object with a first image size and second control of conveying the object at a second speed faster than the first speed while the sensor images the object with a second image size having a smaller number of pixels; and sets pixel positions of the sensor used for imaging during the second control, according to the amount of deviation detected based on the image data imaged with the first image size by the first control.

Liquid discharge apparatus and detection method

A liquid discharge apparatus includes liquid discharge units, a first image capturing unit, a second image capturing unit, a detection unit, and a discharge determination unit. The liquid discharge units include a first liquid discharge unit and a second liquid discharge unit downstream from the first discharge unit in a moving direction of a recording medium. The first capturing unit captures a first image of the medium at a position corresponding to the first discharge unit. The second capturing unit captures a second image of the medium at a position corresponding to the second discharge unit. The detection unit detects a movement amount of the medium in the moving direction, based on the first image and the second image. The discharge determination unit determines a discharge timing of the second discharge unit with respect to discharge of the first discharge unit, based on the movement amount and a clock signal.

A conveyance apparatus includes a liquid discharge head unit, a conveyance rotator, and a plurality of detection devices. The liquid discharge head unit discharge liquid to an object conveyed in a conveyance direction. The conveyance rotator conveys the object. The plurality of detection devices output a detection result indicating a position of the object. The adjacent two of the plurality of detection devices are spaced at a prescribed distance. The prescribed distance is an integral multiple of a circumference of the conveyance rotator.

The processor includes a calculator to calculate a detection result including at least one of a position, a speed of travel, and a calculated travel amount of the conveyed object based on the data acquired by the sensor; and an adjusting unit to adjust a timing of acquisition of the data acquired while the conveyed object is conveyed at the first conveyance speed, based on the detection result and the measured travel amount of the conveyed object being conveyed at a second conveyance speed lower than the first conveyance speed.

A detector includes a light source to irradiate an object with light, a sensor to image a first pattern and a second pattern formed on the object with the light irradiated by the light source to generate image data, the first pattern and the second pattern imaged by the sensor at different times, and a circuit to control the light source to adjust a light quantity of the light according to a type of the object and irradiate the object with the light quantity adjusted according to the type of the object, and calculate a relative position of the object between the first pattern and the second pattern.

Detector, image forming apparatus, reading apparatus, and adjustment method

A conveyance device includes a conveyor to convey a conveyed object, a head unit to perform an operation on the conveyed object, a sensor to obtain surface data of the conveyed object, provided for each head unit, and at least one processor. The processor is configured to calculate a first detection result including at least one of a position, a speed of movement, and an amount of movement of the conveyed object based on the surface data, set a detection area based on the first detection result, calculate a second detection result using the detection area according to the first detection result. The processor is further configured to control operation of the at least one head unit based on the second detection result.
