A method for mounting parts, and an IC card and its manufacturing method. The method reduces the number of steps, increases productivity, lowers costs, and miniaturizes the chip. A first electrode of the IC chip for processing signals received from a coil is connected to an internal end of a coil pattern formed on a first substrate, and an external end of the coil pattern and a second electrode of the IC chip are connected via a jumper wire.

Method for mounting parts and making an IC card

A hollow cylindrical resin case provided at a periphery thereof with an axial opening and a resin terminal plate, one of which has a concave coupling section and the other has a convex coupling section, are coupled together and then filler resin is injected between the capacitor element attached to the terminal plate and the resin case to provide a seal. One or both of the resin case and the resin terminal plate are made of thermoplastic resin, and a space is defined between the coupling sections. A dimension of the space and an inserting force applied to the coupling portions are set to appropriate values, thereby realizing a high quality capacitor free from leakage of filler resin.

Soundproofing materials consisting essentially of zinc oxide whisker particles having a nucleus body and needle crystal portions extending radially from the central body in different plural directions. The materials may comprise a support material for supporting the zinc oxide whisker particles. Such support materials include inorganic materials such as metals, ceramics, glasses, cements, mortars and various fillers in the form of powder, flakes, fibers and the like, and organic materials such as resins, rubbers, waxes and the like. These materials are particularly suitable for sound insulation, sound proofing, vibration damping and vibration insulation.

A radio wave absorbing material comprising zinc oxide whiskers. In a preferred embodiment, the zinc oxide whiskers are comprised of a central part and needle crystal projections extending from said central part in plural different axial directions.

A novel zinc oxide crystal has an octahedral nucleus whose faces are alternately zinc faces and oxide faces, and this crystal has such a geometric shape that a needle is grown on each of the faces. The needle grown on the oxide face is branched into three sections which are disposed in parallel relation, and the needle on the oxide face is shorter than the needle on the zinc face. This novel crystal having oxide films can be produced in a homogeneous manner by mixing zinc-tin alloy powder or tin powder with zinc powder, having an oxide film formed on each particle thereof, to form a powder mixture and then by heating the powder mixture at 820.degree. C. to 1100.degree. C. in an oxidizing atmosphere to oxide the same. The tin concentration in the power mixture is less than 40 wt. %.

Zinc oxide crystal and method of producing same

In the static dissipative resin composition of the present invention, fundamentally, at least semiconductor fillers are dispersed in a resin and at least a part of the semiconductor fillers are brought into electrical contact with each other, thereby forming a conductive path. The .alpha. value representing the degree of the nonlinearity of the V-i characteristics at the contact between the semiconductor fillers should be 2-150, and the volume resistivity of the semiconductor filler is desirably 10.sup.5 -10.sup.10 .OMEGA..cm, whereby on the employment of a conductive filler or a solid lubricant together with the semiconductor filler, various physical properties of the resin composition are improved.

A heating container for an electronic oven, comprising the zinc oxide whiskers, and a microwave oven provided with a heat generator comprising the zinc oxide whiskers. The present electromagnetic wave energy conversion heat-generating material generates heat upon exposure to microwaves. In a preferred embodiment, the zinc oxide whiskers include a central part and needle crystal projections extending from the central part in plural, preferable four, different axial directions.

The present invention relates to an electrically conductive resin composition used as sheilding materials against electromagnetic radiation and antistatic or static dissipative materials, having a stable electro-conductivity. Therefore, the resin composition according to the invention comprises a matrix resin blended with metal fibers and zinc whiskers in a tetrapod shape as shown in FIG. 1.

A photoconductive cell comprises a photodetector section which consists of an aggregate of tetrapod-like zinc oxide whiskers. Each whisker consists of a core and needle-shaped crystals extending in four different directions from the core. Since this novel tetrapod-like zinc oxide whisker consists of single crystal zinc oxide, it suffers less deterioration. In addition, since the single crystals are transparent and an aggregate thereof has a high porosity, light tends to enter deep portions of the cell so that it exhibits high sensitivity.

A metal composition comprising zinc oxide whiskers dispersed in a metal matrix. The whiskers comprise at least one needle crystal having a basal part whose diameter is from 0.7 to 14 micrometers and a length from the basal part to its tip of from 3 to 200 micrometers. The metal composition is isotropically reinforced with respect to mechanical strength and is significantly improved in free cuttability.
