A carbon fiber wherein an average fiber diameter of a single fiber is in a range of 3 to 10 μm, and an average value of an intensity ratio (D/G) of a D peak to a G peak in a Raman spectrum in a cross section perpendicular to a fiber axis direction of the single fiber is 0.90 or less in a region inside a circle having a diameter of 1 μm and centered at a center of gravity of the cross section of the single fiber, and is 0.90 or less in a region up to 1 μm inside from an outer periphery of the cross section of the single fiber, wherein the D peak is observed at around 1360 cmand derived from a defect in a graphite structure and the G peak is observed at around 1590 cmand derived from the graphite structure.

A composite resin material exhibiting excellent physical properties, which is formed by adding semi-rigid or rigid polyurethane resin waste to a thermoplastic reactive resin, a nonreactive resin, a polymer alloy or the like. A first kind of the composite resin material is composed of a crosslinking polyurethane resin and a reactive resin, a nonreactive resin or a polymer alloy, which is formed by kneading the crosslinking polyurethane resin and the reactive resin, the nonreactive resin or the polymer alloy at a predetermined temperature or more. A second kind of the composite resin material is composed of a hydrolysis product of crosslinking polyurethane resin and a solid filler, which are mixed with a nonreactive resin and a polymer alloy by kneading. A third kind of the composite resin material is formed by kneading a moisture-absorbing crosslinking polyurethane resin, a reactive resin and one of a reactive resin, a nonreactive resin and a polymer alloy composed of a resilient rubber material and a thermoplastic resin at a temperature of not less than the hydrolysis temperature of the crosslinking polyurethane resin and not less than the melting point of the one of the nonreactive resin and the polymer alloy.

Composite resin material and method of forming the same

A cross-linked polyurethane resin powder includes a powder including particles made from a hard or a semi-hard polyurethane resin. The particles have a superficial portion and an internal portion disposed inside the superficial portion, and involve cross-linked bondings therein. Part of the cross-linked bondings are unchanged, and another part thereof are broken to result in activated groups. At least part of the activated groups are exposed on the superficial portion of the particles. The cross-linked polyurethane resin powder is produced by hydrolyzing a hard or semi-hard polyurethane resin in the presence of water and in a temperature range of from a hydrolysis temperature of the resin to a liquefying temperature thereof, and by applying a predetermined shearing force to the resin. The cross-linked polyurethane resin powder can disperse well in resinous substrates, and can upgrade the physical properties of the resulting recycled products.

A process for reclaiming waste plastics having a paint film which includes subjecting the paint film to a hydrolysis treatment by immersing the waste plastics having a urethane paint film or an amino resin paint film in a treating liquid, or contacting the waste plastics with the vapor of a treating liquid, to decompose the paint into lower molecular weight compounds. The resulting waste plastics are then heated and kneaded to disperse the products of the hydrolysis in the waste plastics, and there is recovered a reclaimed waste plastics product having good mechanical properties.

The invention relates to a process for producing a fuel absorbent, which comprises the steps of: dissolving an organic polymer having a function of trapping fuel in a solvent to produce a polymer solution; adding a crosslinking agent to said polymer solution to allow said organic polymer to react in the presence of said crosslinking agent; and collecting, after the completion of the crosslinking reaction, the resultant fine polymer gel particles. The invention also relates to a porous fuel absorbent produced by the above process comprised of fine cross-linked organic polymer formed into particles. The above fuel absorbent along with coatings and a carrier may be used to control fuel evaporation loss in automobile canisters or boiler fuel tanks.

The invention relates to a process for producing a fuel absorbent, which comprises the steps of: dissolving an organic polymer having a function of trapping fuel in a solvent to produce a polymer solution; adding a crosslinking agent to said polymer solution to allow said organic polymer to react in the presence of said crosslinking agent; and collecting, after the completion of the crosslinking reaction, the resultant fine polymer gel particles. Process for producing fuel absorbent

Epoxy resin compositions including an epoxy resin, a hardener and an additive for forming a rust preventing film are provided. The additive is at least one selected from dithiophosphoric acids, dithiophosphoric acid derivatives, metal salts of dithiocarbamic acids and oxidized waxes. The composition may also include a secondary additive such as an organosilicon compound, an organoaluminum compound or an organotitanium compound for dithiophosphoric acid and/or dithiophosphoric acid derivative; an alkylarylsilsesquioxane silicone compound for a metal salt of dithiocarbamic acid; an alkylarylsilsesquioxane silicone compound, an organoaluminum compound, an organotitanium compound or an organotin compound for an oxidized wax. These epoxy resin compositions, when used as encapsulating materials, prevent moisture and impurities from penetrating into the surface of an encapsulated product because of the rust preventing film existing between the composition and the encapsulated product.
