In one embodiment, a medical image processing apparatus includes a display and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to (a) calculate fluid information including flow-velocity vectors based on three-dimensional image data of plural time phases, which are acquired by a phase contrast method of magnetic resonance imaging, and in which fluid flowing inside a lumen is depicted, (b) identify a branching position where a second lumen branches from a first lumen, based on change in flow volume of fluid flowing inside the first lumen along an extending direction of the first lumen, and (c) cause the display to display an analysis result including fluid information of fluid flowing inside the second lumen, based on the branching position.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a phase image generating unit, an image value acquisition unit and a frequency shift calculation unit. The phase image generating unit executes a sequence including an application of a bipolar gradient pulse and thereby generates a first phase image. The image value acquisition unit acquires an image value of the first phase image. The frequency shift calculation unit determines an amount of frequency shift per unit amount of gradient magnetic field based on magnetic field strength of the bipolar gradient pulse and on the image value of the first phase image.

According to one embodiment, an MRI apparatus includes a signal acquisition unit, an image generating unit, a position acquiring unit, and a correction unit. The signal acquisition unit acquires a magnetic resonance signal produced from an object by applying a gradient magnetic field and an RF pulse in an imaging space where the object is placed. The image generating unit reconstructs image data on the object based on the magnetic resonance signal. The position acquiring unit acquires an imaging region as positional information in the imaging space. The correction unit brings a distribution of the gradient magnetic field close to a target distribution by transforming a waveform of the gradient magnetic field based on the positional information and a time constant of an eddy-current magnetic field to cancel the eddy-current magnetic field.

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit and a compensation unit. The imaging unit acquires image data by imaging that applies a pre-pulse for controlling contrast. The compensation unit suppresses a remnant magnetic field having an intensity according to slice position. According to one embodiment, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a correction data acquisition unit configured to perform diffusion weighted imaging to a phantom having a known apparent diffusion coefficient and measure an apparent diffusion coefficient of the phantom to acquire correction data from a measured apparent diffusion coefficient and the known apparent diffusion coefficient, and an image generating unit configured to perform diffusion weighted imaging to an object with a same parameter setting as that of the diffusion weighted imaging to the phantom to generate an apparent diffusion coefficient image from a diffusion weighted imaging data of the object and the correction data.
